All The Days Of His Life

“So Jehoiachin changed from his prison garments, and he ate bread regularly before the king all the days of his life.”  2 Kings 25:29

“And as for his provisions, there was a regular ration given him by the king, a portion for each day, all the days of his life.”  2 Kings 25:30

Jehoiachin was blinded and locked away, but not forgotten forever.

Lord, thank You for bringing out the imprisoned and letting us sit at Your table for the rest of our days.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

My Portion

What more could I ask
than to be at the table with You

cared for by Your presence
included in what You do

my needs being met
each and everyday

never going hungry
fed by You always.

  1. Thank you, Deb

We are blessed more than we imagine 🙂

    Thankful
    ann

    “We are blessed!”

  2. Dearest Deb – If only we were only content with so much!
Instead, we (I) focus on asking for so little – desires of the moment. Included in His presence – Amazing Grace!
Every need met, even the needs I don’t realize I have.
Who could ask for anything more?
    Beautiful, my friend.
    Debbie

  5. “…cared for by Your presence
    included in what You do…”

We hear that God works in mysterious ways so often that we come to believe it is true, but it is not. God works in relationship with each us and tells us as much as we can bear (John 16:12). We just need to grow more to be told me.

    Awesome poem, my friend.

  20. >> “cared for by Your presence”

This is one of the greatest blessings of being a child of the living God, and one we cherish at all times, but it has been “more true” (I know, nothing can be ‘more’ true, but you know what I mean) this week.

My husband had a minor heart attack on Sunday. We were sitting in Church (and we always sit near the front) when he more or less collapsed. He was still sitting, chin on chest, as though asleep, but his colour completely drained. He was swearing profusely and yet his skin was icy cold and he was more unconscious than conscious. He didn’t know us. The ambulance arrived and paramedics treated him there in Church, during the sermon.

It must have been very distracting, b ut it couldn’t have happened at a better place. Not only were there people to help, including two nursing sisters, but there was immediate prayer.

He responded well to treatment. He spent a day in intensive care and a couple of days on the ward, and is now back to ‘normal’. He will have a Pacemaker implanted soon.

We were certainly “cared for by His presence”

What a truly awesome Father God!

  21. Oh Mentor Angela . . I read this and had to go pray and thank Him for you being in His presence and being cared for. I will keep your hubby in my prayers, as a pacemaker is implanted . . and will pray for you too, dear one, as you care for him. That will be a service that no one forgets soon.
God bless you and yours, as He stays with you always, and tenderly cares for you each day. love and prayers!

  22. Thank you Deb. I appreciate you. Myles is doing well now his medication has been adjusted. The date for the Pacemaker implant has been set for 20th April.
