Our Lists

“Manasseh was twelve years old when he became king, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem.”  2 Kings 21:1

“And he did evil in the sight of the LORD. . .”  2 Kings 21:2

Chapter 21 starts out with a long list of all Manasseh’s done wrong . . .and I know I had a list too.

Lord, thank You for taking away my record of evil by way of the cross.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

What Happened

I look at Manasseh’s
long list of sins
and know that I’m
no better than him
only that Jesus
washed mine away
by His blood
that Calvary day.

  1. Looks like I made it to church on time tonight! Oh, yeah–the list. Aren’t you glad Jesus tore it up and threw it away?! Phew!! He is one amazing Lord God, full of LOVE for us–everyday–especially the days when we’re tempted to start a new list and get all bummed again! Love Him so much, with a grateful heart! And love you, too, Sis–God bless you in abundant bunches!

  2. You always make it to church on time, Sis Caddo Delight . . .and bring the joy with you when you come! So thankful we don’t have any lists hanging about . . .no condemnation. Thank you Jesus . . .our great eraser! love you tons and God bless you and fill your days with all the good that He is and wants to reveal to you!

  3. I love that He not only tore up our list He gave us a new one! ‘Chosen…holy and blameless in His sight … loved … redeemed … predestined … for the praise of His glory … and that’s just a few things on His new list for us from Ephesians 1! He is so good to us – bless you Deb for reminding us that the old is gone.

P.S. I so missed stopping by while I was away, but must confess it was nice to be unplugged – I didn’t even take my cell phone 🙂

  4. Thank you, Dearest Deb!!

“Lord, thank You for taking away my record of evil by way of the cross. ”
Amazing Grace is the song I sing over and over again!

“my sins were washed away and my night was turned to day!”

    Blessings

  5. I for one am so glad Jesus doesn’t have that list of sins of mine, HE threw them in the sea of forget fullness.

  6. King Manasseh had the longest reign and was the worst king of Judah. It was his sins which were never atoned for and eventually caused the overthrow of Judah. Yet, God had mercy on Manasseh when the king humbled himself and prayed.

I, too, know that I am no better than Him, except for the blood of Jesus.

  7. Aimeee!!!!! So good to see you . .well, you know what I mean! haha! And love that you could just be unplugged for awhile!!! Also loved your comment about our new lists . . .that is so encouraging and so like Him! God bless you, redeemed beautiful child of His!

  8. Now you have me singing too, and rejoicing, Ann full of grace! 🙂 Thank you so much and God bless you and give you favor today. You are on His list of much loved ones!

  9. Oh yes He did throw it away, into the sea! And now we are free! God bless you and all you are in Him today!

  10. Larry, I looked at those verses and thought, Lord . . .how am I going to encourage from this? haha! It has been kind of challenging and my heart would ache each time I’d read “and he did evil in the sight of the LORD.” How His heart must have ached too and still does, when we sin. So thankful that He made a way for us, through Jesus! God bless you, washed one of His!

  11. Thank you Debbie! Thank You, Lord!

What a tremendous blessing that my list of sins is BLANK because Christ paid the penalty for them and God has banished them as far as the east is from the west. He has NO recollection of any sin I ever committed!

What an amazing forgiveness, cleansing and restoration!
    What an amazing Saviour!
    What an amazing Father God!

  12. Thank you for this Ann. My favourite vocals is a male quartet and the instrumentals are great too. More importantly, the words of this oldie cause us to praise the only One who is worthy of praise.

  13. Woohoo . . Angela’s in the house and she’s excited for Jesus! I love the worship and praise that just pours out of you. Thank you for being here and loving Him! God bless you, one whose list is gone! love and prayers!

  14. It is a wonderful thing to know that your sins have been washed away. Great post. 🙂

    Love,
    Theresa

  15. I agree! I might not get all the stains out of the laundry, but the blood of Jesus does a great job on us! Love you, wonderful woman of the word! God bless you as you rest and rejoice in Him!

  16. Debbie, I believe that Jesus died for our original sin, so I guess that makes me a different kind of believer, but I believe so much in your faith and fairness that I feel entirely comfortable writing that down here. No matter how we believe, the important thing is living The Great Commandment, loving like today is the last day in Creation, AND that Creation may have thousands more years to manifest, so everything we do matters. I loved this. Bless you! Amy

  17. Amy . . .God bless you! I have a lot to learn . . a lot. 🙂 I know that coming here can be challenging to you in some ways, because we might not see everything the same way. But still you come. That says a lot about you! I think God brought you into my life for a reason, that there are things I need to learn that I can’t learn by only being with people who think just the same way I do. I keep thinking you’ll just delete me, but you don’t! haha! Thank you, precious lady of His, for embracing me and feeling safe enough to share whatever you want to here. love and prayers!

  18. Dearest Deb –
For so long, I couldn’t forgive myself for things our Father had long since cast as far as the East is from the West.
I wrote my own list with invisible ink – already forgiven by the Father and hidden from others, I would pull it out and my tears would bring the words back to the page.
Extending grace to myself has been a revelation!
Much love to you and Aub – praying today AND Friday!
    Debbie

  19. Sweet gracious one . . .I can do that too! It’s getting better. He’s helping me to just not go there any more, to reject those thoughts as soon as they start. So thankful for that grace, for that forgiveness that casts our sins away, and allows us to think of how wonderful He is instead of how awful we are!
And Debbie, your prayers for us are priceless! You have no idea! Thank you! love and prayers for you too!!!

  20. Thank you Debbie, the thankfulness for God’s grace sent chills up my spine. Blessings!

  21. God bless you, Tom, and all that He has done and is yet to do in You!
