“For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they did not depart from them . . .” 2 Kings 17:22
The fact that others are following in our paths puts a whole new realization to our steps.
Oh Lord, may all those who follow us be led straight to You. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Who I Can Follow
We must honor and love
those around us each day
be respectful and listen
to what they say
but when it comes to following
there is only One’s way
may we all run after
the Lord Jesus, I pray.
As a children’s ministry leader for many years, I have always been challenged that someone is watching and following. Everything they see me do or say is either a stepping stone to faith in Christ, or a stumblingblock. What a challenge! But what a God who directs and enables!
Then there is the added challenge you present here – that of walking in HIS steps. I could not do it alone, but HE keeps me on the right path. When I stray, He brings me back. He directs, He guides, He challenges, He corrects, He enables . . .
What an amazing God!
Amen. I will follow Him!
Jesus is our perfect role model in life if we follow Him we will be okay…He does things much easier then we do..and will save us allot of grief. Thanks Deb for your faithfulness to commenting and visiting my blogs I do so much appreciate that…
Debbie,
Your posting reminded me of 1Tim 6:11-12 …
11) But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12) Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
This should be our daily desire.
Lord bless.
Oh, Sis!! I love the poem’s message, and what a perfect photo to compliment it!! Thank you for always pointing us in HIS direction with such gentle love. God bless you today with an extra measure of ALL He has for us! love, sis Caddo
This is simply beautiful…just like you!
I’m running–and occasionally stumbling–but keeping my focus on the One who came to save my wretched soul.
Bless you, my Deb, may He watch over Missy today…and forever.

You bring back memories of when I helped in some of the children’s classes, Mentor Angela. I loved it, but truly there is a responsibility there! 🙂 Your comment about walking in His steps brought something to mind . .. He leaves really big foot prints for us to find and follow! 🙂 So thankful!

As I work a little ahead of what I am posting each day, I’m now reading about Josiah, and how they found the Book of the Law . . .and he tore his clothes, knowing how far they had strayed. God bless you as you leave clear prints behind today, leading to Jesus!
Desiray, I love your comment. Just so true! If we follow Him, we will be okay . . .doesn’t get much easier than that, huh? God bless you as you follow Him today, paving a way for others!
Thank you. Rob for bring those scriptures here and adding to this! 🙂 Love His word, that teaches us what to do, what is good and what we need to steer clear from. God bless you and your desire for Him!

“…The fact that others are following in our paths puts a whole new realization to our steps…”
For me, one of my biggest fears has been that I would end up being a stumbling block for other people. So, one of my prayers has been: “Lord, if You see that I will end up being a stumbling block to others, kill me, and take me home to be with You.”
It is a serious matter, Larry. I often ask Him to make good of my bad, asking for forgiveness when I don’t get it right. Staying humble and tender before Him , I think helps us from being stumbling blocks. Then we are more like pillows for each other. 🙂
God bless you and all the places He is taking you, so others can be with Him too.
Oh Deb, what words of wisdom…anointed words of wisdom from above. I read it out loud and it felt like a hymn…would love to set it to music. You have been such a dear friend. The trail you leave with special marks for the seeker who is so weary…that lead to Jesus.
Love,
Theresa
Love you, wonderful woman of the Word! I can hear you singing this! 🙂 And . .. you live it too. Your life sings it and leaves a trail of songs scented with Him. God bless you and give you rest today!
