A Day Of Good News

“And when these lepers came to the outskirts of the camp, they went into one tent and ate and drank, and carried from it silver and gold and clothing, and went and hid them; then they came back and entered another tent, and carried some from there also, and went and hid it.” 2 Kings 7:8

“Then they said to one another, ‘We are not doing what is right.  This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent.” 2 Kings 7:9

The famished people within the besieged city were about to find out that God had dealt with the enemy.

Oh Lord, we desire to share Your Good News with those who are being trapped by the enemy today.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Know This

There is something Satan
doesn’t want you to know
that you are much loved
and sought after, so
he keeps you separated
and locked away
but Jesus has come –
He’s going to save you today!

  1. Yippee skippee–Excellent word, Sis–and I’m first up!! Jesus is our super-Hero, to put it in kid-terms, ready to save us from that sneaky “Snidely Whiplash” (I think I have the right cartoon character–??). Lord bless your Monday with abundance–love and peace and strength for the tasks at hand, whatever He needs you to do! And lots of love for my dear Sis, and angel niece!!

  2. Love it “We are not doing what is right. This day is a day of good news and we remain silent” Imagine if we didn’t just count our blessings but declared them, spoke about God’s goodness as easily as we discuss our worries. Good word for me to be speaking out the good news of each day and not just the struggles. The power of praise – great way to start my week thanks Deb xx

P.S. LOVE the poem too 🙂

  3. Awesome – praise God he’s breaking through those lies to declare his love 🙂

  4. He sure don’t sis he would love to keep telling us lies and if we don’t cast those thoughts when they enter into our minds we will begin to listen to him. Great post

  5. Oh this
God of ours is so great. His salvation so awesome!

  6. “…he keeps you separated
    and locked away…”

Remember the prisoners as though in prison with them and those who are ill treated, since you yourselves are also in the body. (Hebrew 13:3)

  7. I love your terms, Sis Caddo Delight! I haven’t thought of Snidely in awhile . . .haha! God bless you and the good news you share today! Thank you for the blessings and prayers! love you!

  8. Thank you, sweet Aimee, for once again blessing me and reminding me of what He told me to do, through Pastor J. . .to use the social media sites to offer praise to all He is doing in our lives.
God bless you as you praise Him this week and He inhabits those praises! love and prayers!

  9. Thank you, dear Desiray, for sharing just what we have to do . . .not entertain those thoughts, those lies! God bless you as you share the truth of His love!

  10. God bless you as you worship our great God! He loves you and your heart for Him!

  11. Thank you, Larry. Your comment was a very real and sobering one, one we needed to hear. God bless you as you keep the prisoners in prayer and seek after God on their behalf.

  12. Powerful words today, Deb! “…that you are much loved
and sought after” Hooray! The King is seeking ME! 😀

  13. Amen God’s Girl! God bless you as you love those around you today and let them know the truth!

  14. Oh yes He is, Ted! 😀 God bless you and the good news that you live out each day!

  15. And you do such a wonderful job of offering praise and encouraging us all to too! xx

  16. Deb

Thanks for reminding us that we are never faced with the impossible when the Lord is on our side! What a blessing it must have been to receive the news of the enemies defeat, especially when things look so gloomy.

    Lord bless you Debbie

  17. You said it Deb!
Satan’s main thrust towards God’s children is to keep them from praising their God, from communing with Him, from learning from His Word, from depending on Him for everything.

If it wasn’t for the tremendous love of God who keeps us close to Himself and lovingly draws us back if we tend to wander, we would soon be drawn away by satan’s devices . . . but praise God, He is able and not only able, but determined to KEEP us and continue His work in us until that wonderful day when we will be presented faultless before the throne.

    What an amazing God!!!

  18. Deb, however you perceive Satan, this really works. To me, Satan is The World: Shouting in my ear, “Buy this! Invest in that! Be afraid of people who don’t look like you! Be homophobic!”

And I rely on the peace that comes with prayer and the knowledge that God loves everyone; that in this season of Lent, we remember the lessons of Jesus and the days leading to his sacrifice… Amy

  19. Rob, thanks for taking us to what it must have been like in that city. The story of the women agreeing to eat their children is in this part of scripture. I can’t imagine. Then to find out it is really true, the Syrians had fled and left all their goods behind. Definitely good news! As is Jesus to us today! God bless you and all the impossible things He makes possible for you today!

  20. I love this, Mentor Angela . . .”He is able and not only able, but determined to KEEP us and continue His work in us”. 😀 Happy dance to that right there! God bless you as you rely on Him for it all! love and prayers!

  21. I went back, Amy, and read the poem, and could so see how Satan as the world, shouting in your ear . . .distracting us from God, would so work! 🙂 I love getting your perspective and comments! God bless you and your reliance on Him today!

  22. Amen

  23. God bless you, sweet vessel of His, as you just can’t remain silent today about Him! 🙂

  24. I thank God for sending me an angel who never tires of checking on me. God must have whispered to her to break the door whenever I let the devil locked me up.

And the devil said, “Why did that Angel Deb break the wall as well?!” 🙂

  25. Today sweet spoon . . .I am crying, just having you here. 🙂 You are such a blessing . . .a true light shining for Him. You betcha we’ll come storm the doors and walls for you! My how He loves you!!! Me too, Rea . .love and prayers and blessings galore!
