Window Upon Window

There were windows with beveled frames in three rows, and window was opposite window in three tiers.” 1 Kings 7:4

King Solomon was a wise and understanding man. It makes sense he’d want windows to let in light and to help him better see.

Lord, thank You for allowing us to see You and each other through the window of Your Word.Β  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Window Additions

Layer upon layer
the Word adds to our life

windows to see through
that let in the light

a warmth penetrates
from the Son’s constant gaze

protecting us from evil
all of our days.

  1. amen

  2. Thank you Debbie. I love knowing I can be encouraged and refreshed at the end of my day with your beautiful poems. They always speak to me. Bless you x

  3. His Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path! Thanks Deb for reminding me to stay in His Word!

  4. This poem and post is so profound…so beautiful. I could just see it done in calligraphy and hanging on a wall.

    Thank you.

  5. “…piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit… and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of our hearts.” (Hebrews 4:12)

Yes, indeed a powerful living light.

  6. God bless you and the window of His word you look through today!

  7. God bless you, sweet Aimee, and the way you see and respond to what you see! You inspire me and encourage me!

  8. God bless you, Pastor J! Your blog is a window through which we can look and see Jesus! πŸ™‚

  9. You are so sweet, wonderful woman of the Word! You reflect Him and let us see Him through the window you are for HIm. Thank you and God bless you as you let His light shine through you today!
    love and prayers!

  10. Great verse with this, Larry! πŸ™‚ God bless you as you let that Light shine in you and through you.

  11. Oh this is marvelous, Sis– I love the “warmth penetrates from the Son’s constant gaze”!! Even though the day is overcast here, I can feel that warmth on my soul–and feel the comfort of “constancy”. And “protecting us from evil” is also so reassuring. Wonderful message–thanks so much! God bless and cover you and Aub this evening, after a horse riding day! Love to you both!

  12. So glad that you feel His warmth, even when the days aren’t the brightest! Thank you for your special prayers for us! Aub had a good time riding today, and we are having a warm window of weather, so she got to swing too!
God bless you and the Word windows He gives you to look into and out from. Love and prayers!

  13. Beautiful, Deb

    Thanks for sharing!

“Lord, thank You for allowing us to see You and each other through the window of Your Word”

Thankful for the light that shines through the window of you.

  14. God bless you, Ann full of grace and light! You are a beautiful window for Him, revealing His word to us! Love you and am praying for His hand to be upon you through these weeks of extra work. God bless you!

  15. Thank you, Dearest Delightful Deb

So wonderful of you to pray me through. I appreciate your support a lot. I find the weeks you post that you are praying are the weeks I really need the lifting up. So thankful for your obedience to the Holy Spirit.

Let’s keep praying for each other.

    In His hands,

  16. As I look back of 53 years of walking with the Lord, I see the truth in the words of your ‘simple poem’

“Layer upon layer” – so many layers! He has been very busy adding layers because there was so much refining to do – and still is!!!

“The Word adds to our life” – Amen! My life was empty before and now it is full and brimming over with His joy

“Windows to see through that let in the Light” – What a blessing it has been when He opens a window and lets in His light. There were so many things I had to re-learn, so many times He had to reveal His way.

“A warmth penetrates from the Son’s constant gaze, protecting us from evil all of our days” – Oh the blessedness of the warmth of His gaze (even when it is for correction) and oh the blessedness of knowing His protection from evil! When we submit to Him, the devil flees!

Thank you for being an instrument through which He works.

    What an amazing God!

  17. Thank you, Mentor Angela! What a beautiful comment . . .it’s better than the post. haha! You can just come here any time you want! πŸ™‚ I love “when we submit to Him, the devil flees”. Yes!
God bless you and all the windows He has put into your life!
    love and prayers!
