On The Throne

“If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul,”  He said, “you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.”  1 Kings 2:4

God gave David the secret to success, and David passed it on to Solomon . . .and to us.

Thank You, Lord, that the Son of Man is forever on the throne, ruling in perfect power, wisdom and love.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

His Guarantee

We all want to be
in control of our lives

it makes sense and seems
dignified and right

but to invite Jesus
to sit upon our thrones

guarantees for us the best
kind of life ever known.

  1. Beautiful! 🙂

  2. God bless you and your life in Him! ❤

  3. I LOVE guarantees, and HIS really is the only 100% one–we’d be foolish not to take it!! Love to my Sis–sending you a big good-night hug!

  4. Ah, yes – handing over the reins is probably the hardest thing to do….but it comes with such reward. You are a great example of such a heart surrendered to Him – look what richness you bring to our lives – blessings!

  5. Amen Debbie! Isn’t so nice not to have to carry that weight on our shoulders? Blessings!

  7. Like us, David’s sons and lineage were less than perfect. Yet God’s promise to David and also to us was not dependent on man’s goodness, but upon His own goodness.Thank God for that!

  8. I love how you capture sure powerful truths in such simplicity. Thanks Debbie. Indeed we truly want God governing our soul .. every thought, desire and act — for that leads to a life of love, joy, peace, rest and abundance that is perfect for us.

  9. Guarantees are nice, comforting . . .and His is the best ever. An eternal one! 🙂 God bless you sis Caddo Delight as you invite Him to rule and reign in your life each day! love you!

  10. Your comment blessed me so, dear planaquarium! Today, my daughter went to horse therapy. She used to occasionally want to not be led around, to have control of the reins herself. But with the increase of seizures, she’s been more content just being led. 🙂 May I be likewise with Jesus! God bless you and all the ways He rewards you just because you’re His!

  11. Yes, that’s true Eden! I’m carrying enough weight around as it is! haha! God bless you and all that He is doing in your life!

  12. Hi Daniel! God bless you as you let him reign over you!

  13. Oh yes, Larry! So thankful for His goodness and righteousness as He sits on the throne over us. 🙂 God bless you as you look to Him each day!

  14. This is Who we can trust being in charge over us! 🙂 No one governs like Him. God bless you and all that He creates in you!

  15. Isn’t it interesting that Jesus waits for us to invite Him…then once we do He never lets go.

  16. I love that Patricia! 🙂 The Jesus hold . . . 🙂 God bless you, sweet lady, as He holds onto you today!

  17. Thanks, Deb

I read God’s promise just before going to bed last night…. how wonderful that we can trust His word that He will do what He says He will do!

“Thank You, Lord, that the Son of Man is forever on the throne, ruling in perfect power, wisdom and love. ”
If I keep driving, I’m sure I’ll crash. And burn. I know where I want to go, so sometimes I do want to hang onto that steering wheel, but I know enough to let go.

May we always be open to live in the freedom He guarantees us.

  18. amen

  19. Thank you Deb! 🙂

  20. You have me smiling about that driving and crashing . . .and burning. 🙂 Even when He’s at the wheel, I can be an awful back seat driver. ( really? We’re stopping here? For how long? Or . .. are we there yet? haha!)
God bless you, Ann full of Jesus grace, joy and song as you let Him drive you right to your heart’s desire . . .Him. Thanks for the praise challenge this week! 🙂

  21. God bless you Z, and all that you hand over to Him each day!

  22. Wonderful woman of the Word . . .thank you for being here. You bless me! Love and prayers for you and yours!

  23. God’s promises are yea and amen! There is nothing to add to or take away from them, because His promises stand on their own merit!

Thanks encouraging Debbie! God bless you today!

  24. A-men Deb and this is our lifelong work to put Jesus upon the throne of our hearts and to keep Him there!

  25. I get so excited at the praise and worship in your comments. 🙂 Grabbing onto those promises today and everyday with you. God bless you, praise and worshiping Paulette, as you stand on His promises and help us to too!
    love and prayers!

  26. “and to keep Him there” . . . 🙂 I get this picture of me asking if it’s my turn yet. God bless you as He sits in love over you today!

  27. A simple truth well expressed.
We all want to be in control of our own lives, to do our own thing when and how we want.
What fools we are, for we KNOW that when we have allowed Him to dictate and undertake, we have never been disappointed, and on the contrary we have been most appreciative. Or as you say – “guarantees for us the best kind of life ever known”

As penned by Jennie Evelyn Hussey:

    King of my life, I crown Thee now;
    Thine shall the glory be.
Lest I forget Thy thorn-crowned brow,
    Lead me to Calvary.

  28. Love your comment, our mentor Angela! 🙂 “When we have allowed Him to dictate and undertake, we have never been disappointed”. How true is that! I love His ways!
God bless you as you live with Him crowned King of your life!

  29. “… invite Jesus to sit upon our thrones.”

Sort of like, “let go and let God.” But it sure is hard to surrender sometimes.

  30. Yes, the “let go and let God”! I like that one, Linda. It can be hard to surrender, for me, when I’m not sure if I heard Him or just myself talking.
God bless you as you serve your Jesus today! love and hugs and prayers!

  31. Very good post Liked.. Many blessings.. Bro Pat

  32. God bless you Bro Pat, as you surrender to Him today! Thank you for stopping by and encouraging us!
