Apart From God

“Then immediately Saul fell full length on the ground, and was dreadfully afraid. . .”  1 Samuel 28:20

There was nothing more Saul could do.

Oh Lord, thank You that through Jesus Christ we don’t have to stay in the painful place of being separated from You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

The Jesus Connection

Saul fell face down
and couldn’t rise
God was no longer
at his side

but God sent His Son
so we can forever be
forgiven, connected
purified and holy.

  1. One of the most frightening verses in the Bible describes what happened to Saul from God’s point of view as said to David:

“But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.” (2 Samuel 7:15)

Thank God, we have Jesus, living in us.

  2. Hallelujah. Thank Jesus for bringing us back to God and also giving us grace to continue in His presence! Reminds me of this song I have been listening lately – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38EVco7eba0&feature=related

Jesus paid it all 🙂 So, now why be a stranger when I can be a friend of God

Thanks for this post Debs… be blessed. May love, peace, joy, faith and all good gifts from above be the portion of you and your loved ones.

  3. I agree. Couldn’t imagine not having His mercy! Thanking Him for Jesus today, with you. God bless you and yours!

  4. Ritas, thankful with you for the grace to continue in His presence. There is no where else to go but to Him.
God bless you, beautiful one of great faith, as you go in Him and His strength today!
    love you!

  5. I worried for a long time that I might end up like Saul—that God would reject me like he did Saul and find someone else on whom he could bestow his blessings. But then verses like Hebrews 7:25 began to work in me: “He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.” God will be faithful to me to the end because Christ is my intercessor.

Praise God for the hope that is found in Jesus alone.

  6. So thankful for all that God does to draw us near and make intercession for us. Thank you for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment! God bless you and the hope you have in Jesus!

  7. As usual, lovely poem, Deb! 🙂
Man, by nature, is a sinner .. without God’s mercy and patience, he/she’d be doomed for sure!

  8. That can be a hard pill to swallow for some, I know. But it’s true! In my own life everything was such a mess that there could be no denying it. 🙂 God bless you, Mike, as you follow Jesus!
