Nothing Missing

“Now one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal’s wife, saying, ‘Look, David sent messengers from the wilderness to greet our master, and he reviled them’.”  1 Samuel 25:14

“But the men were very good to us, and we were not hurt nor did we miss anything as long as we accompanied them, when we were in the fields.”  1 Samuel 25:15

Good was done to Nabal, even though he was unaware.

Lord, thank You for Your hand that guides others to care for my family and I,  even when I’m not aware of it. I desire to be more and more generous and gracious in this life.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Beholden

I want to say thank you
more and more each day

to all those who help me
along this narrow way

who guard me with prayers
strengthen me with faith

I may not know all the names
but my heart beholds the grace.

  1. “Lord, thank You for Your hand that guides others to care for my family and I, even when I’m not aware of it.”
    Amen.

Thank you Deb. Sometimes the painful things get more recognition than those that increase our faith and hope. Thanks for the reminder to be thankful.

    Blessings,
    ann

  2. I have often wondered Deb how many times I have entertained angels unawares. I know He guards us in the night when we cannot watch for ourselves! Thanks!

  3. A very appropriate topic for this week 🙂 Sadly, it is all too easy to take the prayers of those we know, and those we don’t, for granted. Blessings!

  4. “Lord, thank You for Your hand that guides others to care for my family and I, even when I’m not aware of it” .. I never thanked Him for that, thank you for pointing it out .. Lovely!

  5. “I desire to be more and more generous and gracious in this life.

God is fulfilling that desire in you, Debbie and Psalm 34:7 confirms it. Be blessed today, you’re a blessing to us and thank you.

  6. Over the years, I’ve met people who have prayed for me because the Holy Spirit laid me on their hearts. Each time I’ve been humbled by just how good our God is and how wonderful it is to be a part of the body of Christ.

What could be better than this?

  7. I couldn’t be more blessed… so grateful to God. Happy Thanksgiving. : )

  11. It is easy to take prayers for granted. Wanting to say thank you for the wonderful blessing that they are, as are the ones praying them! Thank you, Eden , and God bless you and yours today!

  12. Well, that is a kind of different thing to pray about, isn’t it? haha! Just covering all my bases, I guess. God bless you and all those who are praying for you!

  19. “I desire to be more and more generous and gracious in this life.”

    Me too.

  20. Well, then I’ll just be praying that for the both of us! 🙂 God, being God, and always ready to help me put my actions where my words are, has given me an opportunity this weekend, that at first I responded to in a not so generous or gracious way. haha!
God bless you and yours, Mike!

  21. It seems there is always something to test the decisions we make/conclusions we come to. But . . . that is how we are stretched.

I want to take this opportunity to explain why I am not spending as much time blogging as I used to. My work with the guys in jail is going well. Where I use to write little pieces that I would end up posting, I am now writing presentations that are considerably longer for use with my guys. Knowing how much ‘stuff’ is posted here, I don’t think it would be something that people would take the time to read. Plus, with all the time I’m spending on all that, I just quite simply don’t have as much time as I used to.

Having said all that, I’m wrestling with whether or not to post my last piece called ‘Rescued’. It’s almost 4 pages long. I’ve thought about splitting it up, but it just doesn’t split well. I guess it won’t actually hurt anyone if I post it . . . so maybe I will.

I still pray for Aubrey from time to time. I have the image that everytime I do, I am moving a piece of that mountain.

    Hope all is well.

    Mike

  22. Mike, thank you for taking the time to talk about what you are doing right now! I know it is His will for you and you are walking faithfully in it. The blog thing . . .it’s always here, its always a place where you can come to share if it works out. You are out there ministering in person, something some of us bloggers can’t do! So thankful for you and what you are doing. Smiling at how God is using your writing skills there.
And thank you for your Aubrey prayers! October was a crazy month of seizures nearly every week . . .but November has been much better! The mountain is being moved and you have helped me see that it is indeed moveable. Thank you for that! Please hug your lovely wife for me! God bless you always! 🙂

  23. We who have been helped are stirred to want to help others. For awhile, blogging was my only outlet – it was the group God allowed me to feel I was helping. It was a mutual thing. I was helped and felt like I also contributed a little.

So whether we are blogging or face to face, we are still just trying to help and we are faithful to do it with whatever group God gives us to do it with. God has given us both a good group.

Sorry to hear Aubrey has had so much trouble. I’ll try to step up my mountain moving.

  24. I keep finding more & more loveliness here–thank you so much for the gifts! Surely Jesus is smiling!

  25. 🙂 I know I am , because you are here, spreading Caddo sunshine and brightness! Thank you and God bless you!
