” . . .it may be that the Lord will work for us. For nothing restrains the Lord from saving by many or by few.” 1 Samuel 14:6
Jonathon and his armor bearer crossed over to the garrison of the Philistines. Those two were a few that God worked through to save many.
Lord, we rejoice today over the fact that nothing restrains You from carrying out Your purpose and Your plan. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Saving Many
You decided long ago
what You were going to do
and nothing has stopped
You from following through
on saving many
by the sacrifice of One
unrestrained redeeming
through the blood of Your Son.
Excellent work !
Beautiful poem, and an important truth. We are called to be witnesses and the Lord uses that, but the Lord is not needy. Remembering that should help us to not be prideful.
The last line of the Lord’s prayer says it all.
Oh thank you Deb! I have been feeling a little overwhelmed of late. God has just used you to remind me it is not my work it is His! He is the God who can do much with little! He is the God who makes the greatest victories out of the things we call defeats!
You decided long ago
what You were going to do…
His plan always moves forward. Now, the decision we need to make is whether or not we want to live in His plan.
Hi … it’s a great truth that God does a lot with a little that His glory and lovingkindness may be revealed.
Thanks for this important reminder.
Rachel
Wonderful, Deb!
“Lord, we rejoice today over the fact that nothing restrains You from carrying out Your purpose and Your plan”
Amen.
“Neither height, nor depth, nor things past, nor things to come …” Noting restrains Him ever.
Thanks for sharing 🙂
Blessings,
ann
God bless you, Sanah, and the way He is using you today! 🙂
Wonderful woman of the Word . . .I was really stopped by your comment . . .the Lord is not needy. Thank you! He is not like us. We are needy and in deep need of Him. God bless you as He has His way with your heart today!
Pastor J . . .I didn’t even think of that, of it helping us realize that He is doing it, it’s okay. Thank you! God bless you and encourage you in all that you are doing for the many!
God bless you, Larry, for helping us to know what we need to know as we make that decision to live in His plan. You have blessed me and encouraged me more than you know.
I love that Rachel, that He does a lot with a little, so He can be revealed. 🙂 God bless you and here’s a song your comment reminded me of!
God bless you, Ann full of grace and joy, as He works unrestrained in your heart and life! love and prayers!
praise God… nothing but the blood of the Lamb ❤
God bless you and shower you with His unrestrained love today, our faith-filled fisherlady.
Deb, Catching up again! I know you’ll say I don’t need to come read and comment, but I get so much from your posts. I love this stanza of your poem:
on saving many
by the sacrifice of One
What an awesome God! Peace, Linda
You’re right . . that’s what I will say, but too late! ha! You work too much, beautiful lady. Just want to give you a break. God bless you as He does much in your life today!
