“So the cook took up the thigh with its upper part and set if before Saul. And Samuel said, ‘Here it is, what was kept back. It was set apart for you. Eat; for until this time it has been kept for you, since I said I invited the people’.” 1 Samuel 9:24
When a family member is delayed past dinner time, we save some back for them.
Lord, thank You for encouraging those of us who feel left out and left behind today, that You have something set apart for us. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Set Apart and Kept Back
I know you are struggling
with all you’re going through
you’re not even sure
what you’re suppose to do
but I have something kept back
set apart for you
keep pressing on and into Me
your time is almost due.
beautifull ,, liked it..
Oh Deb, this poem is absolutely beautiful! We might be forgetful, but the Lord isn’t. The only thing that He forgets are our sins.So much scripture floods my mind…
Love,
Theresa
🙂
Thank you, Dearest delightful Deb,
This is SUPERCOOL!!! Wonderfully and beautifully encouraging. God bless you!
“Lord, thank You for encouraging those of us who feel left out and left behind today, that You have something set apart for us”
Sometimes the fridge-raiders unknowingly consume what was set aside for another. I am thankful that what He has for me has my name on it and nothing and no one can ever take that away from me!
This is the reason I sing redemption’s song :-). I am His, He is mine. He has set me apart and engraved me in the palm of His hands … and nothing can ever take that away from me!
How great is our God!
I wanted to leave you one of my favourite songs but I couldn’t find it on YouTube. It’s by The Talley Trio – He won’t take back one promise He’s given to us!
“He won’t take back one promise He’s given to us,
He won’t let us down after lifting us up.
You can take Him at His word, in His name you can trust,
He won’t take back one promise He’s given to us.”!
Blessings
ann
And the Lord is the only one who never forgets us sister. Men will fail us but our God never shall! Thank you for reminding me and may you be richly blessed for your work!
I believe this is a prophetic word for me. Thanks.
Great reminder, really lovely
Thank you for coming by and leaving a nice comment! God bless you, Ruchi, and the beautiful way you write!
Thank you, woman of the Word, for that reminder . . .that the only thing He forgets are our sins! 🙂 And I’m smiling thinking about all the scripture that is flooding your mind. I totally love how that happens to you, that beautiful waterfall of the Word effect that you have going on. God bless you, Theresa, as He floods your day!
Ann full of Jesus grace and song . . .you have me smiling and singing that redemption song too! You have this special ability to stir up our joy in Him. I might have to rename you. ! 🙂 Laughing at the fridge-raiders ( uh oh, guilty ) not affecting what He has set apart for us.
God bless you, woman of joy unspeakable, as you sing His song today, set apart for Him.
That’s true! So thankful for His faithfulness and His plans for us all, that He has not forgotten. God bless you, Pastor J, and all He has kept back for you.
God bless you, Larry, and what is waiting yet for you. Thank you for helping me see that I have not been left out or behind by Him. 🙂
God bless you, Jessica, and all that He has set apart for you! Your poetry has a very special quality to it, a voice that is one of a kind!
Thanks, D (you sister in Christ you!), for knowing how much I can use this today. Patience isn’t always my best quality and I still have a bad case of the gids – ha.
love ya, c
Debbie this is just perfect! Such an encouragement today… will be sharing it!
God bless you, faith-filled fisherlady, as you encourage others in Him today! You are a blessing!
I love you too! Can’t believe you commented even . . .you didn’t have to do that. And we will just be giddy together! God bless you and all that He has kept for you!
Keep pressing on and into Me – what an incredible thought. I’m a day late reading this, but it was today, not yesterday that I most needed it. Thank you, Deb – you are a gift.
Debbie
I like how God worked that out for you, to read when you needed it most. 🙂 He knows things like that.
God bless you, Debbie, as you keep seeking Him and His presence. You bless us!
Ann,
This comment touched my heart! I am so glad you shared the lyrics to that song! God bless!
Debbie,
Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a powerful Scripture and poem, all by “divine design!” Though the road is rough, and the going gets tough, I know what God has for me, it is for me! My heart is overwhelmed, and filled with praise!
Debbie, thank you for encouraging my heart, and saying what doth saith the Lord! Be blessed today, and every day!
Paulette
Thank you, Praising-Him-Paulette, for being a part of His blessing to me. 🙂 God bless your steadfast love and praise of Him, no matter what, that ministers deeply to our hurts and hearts.
love and prayers!
Wow! That is so true Deb! Four days ago I got a real meaty reward all because I kept going — with Him as my guide 🙂
Thank you for sharing that, sweet spoon! yay! Praising Him and His faithfulness with you. God bless you as you follow His lead!
Deb, What a wonderfully encouraging poem! Once again you’ve found Jesus in the Old Testament in such a blessed way. 🙂 Peace, Linda
Don’t you love how He’s everywhere? 🙂 I know you do! God bless you and encourage you, lovely Linda!
This is truly wonderful, thank you Deb! Pressing into Him is really the daily solution–though I confess I sometimes get distracted, and forget. What a blessing you are!–And isn’t that “Hero” something great, too!
Our hero is a wonderful guy! So glad that you two have “met” and that you are encouraged by him. How I wish I had his imagination! God bless you, dear Caddo, as you press into Him today! I’m shooing away all your distractions!
