Who Is Able?

“And the men of Beth Shemesh said, “Who is able to stand before this holy Lord God? And to whom shall it go up from us?” 1 Samuel 6:20

Prior to standing before God, I want to stay on my face in front of Him.

Thank You, Lord, for making a way for us to stand before You through Jesus. And here’s simple poem . . .

Because of Jesus

Who can stand before
such a mighty God as this?

Who can live a life
of such perfect holiness?

Before we turn away
sure it can’t be done

He says, “Come, come to Me
I’ve made a way through my Son.”

such a mighty God as this?…”

This is the perfect question for us Christians to ask of ourselves.

    Good message.

  11. Thanks Larry for your comment and for understanding. I was just feeling like yesterday . . .that fear of the Lord thing. That He is love, yes, but He is also a mighty Holy God.
God bless you as you stay on your face and on your feet, with Him, today.

  13. God I thank you for making a way for us through you son. You say come just as you are,broken,heavy-laden,lonely,weary and I will give you rest. Father, I thank you for accepting me,thank you for making me a new creature. You, O God, make all things new. I hunger and thirst for your righteousness. I can stand before you and ask you for anything in your name and you say I’ll receive. O mighty one,you are amazing!

  14. There you are, our princess prayer warrior! πŸ™‚ I have been reading your prayers at Ann’s and am just so thankful for you. So blessed that God planned YOU, that He knew you would be needed for this time and this place. God bless you as you pour out your life for Him, in service, prayer, and the power of His Spirit.

  15. What a perfect form of worship..on our face before God! All those who encountered the Holy God of Israel in the Bible never remained standing when they were in His presence.. They had no choice but to fall down and worship Him. This also reminds me of how the Elders in Rev 4:10-11 fell down and worshiped him. Thank you for reminding us of these truths..

  16. Thank you Debbie! The message of this poem is awesome! In His presence bowed humbly, is where I want to be! I thank and praise God for Jesus, our High Priest! Bless His name!

  17. Thank you so much, Dawn, for your comment and your heart of worship for Him. And for understanding that it is not a bad thing to be on our faces. Maybe a more appropriate position for us.
God bless you as you worship Him in Spirit and in truth!

  18. Dear Praising-Him-Paulette . . .I always sense that in you, your posts and your comments, that you are bowed down humbly before Him. You know what it is like to live that way and are teaching us. Thank you! God bless you as you live to bless His name!

  19. >> “I want to stay on my face in front of Him”

Sometimes I have to wonder when people I know say things like “The first thing I do when I get to heaven is to ask God why . . . ” or “As soon as I get to heaven I’m going to look for so-and-so” or “I’ll look for you in the clouds”

How can there be any other thought except one of worshipping the Father God who, through His great love provided our salvation, and worshipping the One, our Saviour Jesus, who willingly paid the price, and thanking the Holy Spirit who continually guided us through life and convicted us when we erred?

My one and only thought is to worship my loving Redeemer . . . to lay prostrate at His feet and know the pure blessedness of complete salvation.

After a long, long, long time I look forward to being reunited with loved ones and to meeting friends like you whom I haven’t yet met.

What an amazing time that will be with an amazing God!

  20. Wow, mentor Angela . . .that is a wonderful viewpoint of this! πŸ™‚ Thank you so much. I didn’t want to be misunderstood in that we can’t stand before God . . .because of Jesus, yes we can. But was just feeling the real need to be on my face before Him.
God bless you and surround you with His amazing love!

  21. Deb, Awesome poem! This reminded me of the song “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe. One line in particular is, “Will I stand in Your presence, or to my knees will I fall?” I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to stand, unless that is His will.

  22. Oh my music mentor left a song! yay!!! πŸ™‚
Thank you, Linda, for sharing that great song and I don’t think I’ll be standing either! God bless you as you worship Him!
