One Bread and One Body

“”. . .all ate the same spiritual food
and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ.” 1 Corinthians 10:3-4

“The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
For we, being many, are one bread and one body; for we all partake of that one bread.” 1 Corinthians 10:16-17

We might call ourselves by different names, but there is only one Christ from which we came.

Oh Lord, we desire to function as one body, as a whole, under Your leadership. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Communion

There’s only one Spirit
whose food we eat

and only one Rock
from which we drink

only one mind
of Christ in us

only His body
can fill us up.

“We might call ourselves by different names, but there is only one Christ from which we came.”

and that is just wonderfully good news! 😉

  4. “…Oh Lord, we desire to function as one body, as a whole, under Your leadership…”

Our inner man, our spirits, desire this. Now, if only our minds would be renewed to the same level. But eventually, we will be one.

  5. Love your very simple yet ‘profound’ poem … His prayer in John 17 reiterates this… that we might be ‘one’ as the father and Him are ‘One’
    God bless you today…

  6. God bless you, and all He is in you! 🙂

  7. I wanted to write you! And here you are! God bless you as you go, one with Him today! love you and talk to you soon, wonderful woman of the Word!

  8. Thank you, Ann full of Jesus grace, for sharing His good news here! God bless you and keep you, one of His beloved!

  9. We just don’t know it yet, do we?
God bless you, Larry! Like as you write about remembering the prisoners . . .we are one.

  10. Oh that is the perfect verse for this, dear fisherlady! 🙂 (love that name!) Thank you for adding that!
God bless you , too, as you live as one with Him and others!

  11. Deb, I love this: “We might call ourselves by different names, but there is only one Christ from which we came.” If only we could all get back to what C.S. Lewis calls “Mere Christianity.” It’s so simple, but we make it so complicated. There is only One Christ, only One Name under heaven by which we may be saved. Praise be to God! Peace, Linda

  12. I am so thankful too, that underneath it all, it is simply Jesus! 🙂 God bless you as you stay true to Him!

  13. Another great truth simply put.
Deb, we might differ on a few points but we agree on the essentials. We agree in the total efficacy of the blood of Christ and the indisputable authority of Scripture. We agree on the most important aspects of our faith and we accept one another and love one another as members of that one family in Christ.
    Thanks, sister.

  14. I love how He sets up “family” in Christ. 🙂 God bless you mentor/sister Angela and the faith you have in the One who keeps us all connected!

  15. Excellent ,simple and clear .
    Thank you.

  16. You are so welcome. Thank you for coming by and God bless you and yours today!
