“In these days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” Judges 17:6
The “everyone did what was right” part in the verse above sounded so good, but yet we know things weren’t good at that time. Often the desire to do right is there, but we have “I” problems.
Lord, I desire to come in for an exam whenever I slip into thinking my sight is always right. Please fit me with a pair of God glasses today so I can see the truth of what I’m doing. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Before I Fall
When being right
becomes more important
than being humble
before You, Lord
then I know
that I have stumbled
and need to put
my God glasses on.
Bended Spoon posted about I glasses too, way before me! Here’s her post to check out!

“…everyone did what was right in his own eyes….”
This is a great verse to remember whenever we think a democracy is a godly form of government.
“When being right
becomes more important
than being humble
before You, Lord”
Oh Deb how often I have fallen into this trap! My problem is that I like to think I can see clearly without my God glasses. Thank you for reminding me to make sure they stay on!
Oh Ann full of grace . . .can I peek at your notes? ha! I think you have got better ones than me. π
God bless you as you look on Him today!
Ooohhhh. Good one, Larry, as usual. π Thanks for opening my eyes. (Glasses do no good if my eyes are closed!)
God bless you and what you see through Him today!
Oh me too, Pastor J. I’m that person that thinks they have them on, but they are shoved up on top of my head. Not the same thing! π
God bless you as you stay close to Him today!
Deb, I love this post and poem! Such a good reminder to take off our “I” glasses and put on our God glasses. π This made me think of the verse in Timothy about people listening to what their itching ears want to hear. If we would just give up all our natural senses for a little Holy Spirit sense, we’d do so much better. Peace, Linda
Hi Debbie,
Thank you for reminding me to keep my God Glasses on. If I take them off, I know I will stumble and fall out of His will, and into my will. My desire is to please Him, and only Him. Bless His name.
God bless!
Paulette π
Thank you for remembering that verse in Timothy. Good one for this! π I’m asking for a trade-in tonight , . .my sense for His Holy Spirit sense . . .
God bless you as you ask to see what He sees today!
Paulette . . .I have such bad eyesight! Really! This compounded with me going without His glasses . . .ai-yi-yi. ! God bless you and your desire to walk in His will and sight each day! From what I can see, you are doing great!
“God Glasses” – I like that!
If only it was so simple ~~~ but then, on the other hand ~~~
If it WAS that simple, where would be the victory? where would be the joy of knowing God working in us and through us to overcome?
If it was as simple as putting on glasses, we might as well be robots, and as such God would not derive pleasure by seeing His children trust Him.
I would love some “God Glasses” and really God has made it just that simple. All I need to do is call out to Him and He responds.
I love your comments, Angela! π Thank you! And that He really does help us see better . . . if we just ask. God bless you as you rejoice in all that He is doing in you today!
Deb I love what you are seeing! The thought of us wearing God glasses made me smile — we can see beyond the surface! Surely there will be changed in vision π
Oooo . . .seeing beyond the surface, that is beautiful, sweet spoon! God bless you and the special heart vision He has given you. love and prayers!
[…] And hereβs another glasses that will surely look good on us and make us look for good β GOD’S GLASSES! […]
