“Then she said to him, ‘How can you say, “I love you”;’ when your heart is not with me?” Judges 16:15
Although Delilah was being deceitful with Samson, she posed a good question.
Lord, please show me what areas of my heart and life I am trying to keep from You today. And here’s a simple poem . . .
There’s More
I sing the words to a song
“I give You my all”
and believe at the time
that it’s true
until in a clear quiet moment
I hear Your voice
and know there’s more
revealing to do.
Yes it’s nice all our sinful attitudes aren’t revealed at once!
Found another one yesterday… Our LORD GOD is merciful and very patient with us!
LOL …. Love you… Susan
Thanks Deb!!
(I’m still taking notes!)
Blessings,
ann

For a long time now, I realize that I love the Lord with as much of my heart that I’ve surrendered to Him at any given moment. My prayer is that I will eventually surrender all my heart to him before I die.
Oh I’m with you on being so thankful for His mercy and patience! And that He doesn’t overwhelm us with revelations of how much we need changed. We’d be little heaps and blubbery puddles. Thank you so much,Susan, for your love and encouragement!
God bless you as He whispers to you today . . .and you acknowledge Him!
Thank you Ann full of grace for another perfect song to go with this! π Our desire is there . . .we just don’t know all that hasn’t been given to Him yet. God bless you as you give Him all that you can today!
Larry, thank you for explaining it like that! π It’s not that we aren’t being sincere in what we are doing . . .just that there is more to come out of us.
When my youngest daughter was younger, a dear woman was talking to me about her. I shared that she helped me be more like Jesus ( I had to learn lots of patience and grace ). She very somberly admonished me that there is always more to learn. Yes, there is but I love that! I love that this doesn’t get “all over” and then we just coast along. I guess I love giving Him things in me that I never thought would change, and then seeing Him change them. Or giving Him something that I didn’t realize I was holding onto too tightly and the wonderful feeling of Him having it instead of me.
God bless you and all that you surrender to Him today!
Yes, I agree that we are so blessed with his patience. And I have so far to go…
God bless you, Tammy! You may be farther along than you think . . .just because you don’t think so. π
Hi Debbie,
My prayer is that the Lord would shine the light from heaven upon my soul. Everything He finds in me that shouldn’t be, I pray that He would take it out and strengthen me! Sometimes there are things so deeply embedded in our hearts and minds, that we thought we had released. It takes the light of the Lord shining in those places, to reveal those things unto us, so that we can release them, and give them to Him.
Thank God, we can cast our cares upon Him, because He cares for us! We serve a great, big, wonderful God! Thank you Debbie! God bless you!
Paulette
I so appreciate how you put that, Paulette! Thank you! He is always kind and gentle with me about these things, never condemning or condescending. His love for us makes us want to know what they are and to let Him in more and more.
God bless you as He shines His light upon you today! You reflect Him beautifully!
love and prayers!
Deb, I think I needed this. I’m up to 1 Peter in my Bible in a Year schedule, and having glanced ahead at ch. 3 I’ve since been avoiding reading further. I know there is something there that is consistent with what I recently read in Ezekiel. Something I need to work on, to let Him reveal. Feeling a little stubborn about it at the moment. Thanks for the nudge. Peace, Linda
Oh Linda . . .you are so sensitive to Him. You may feel a little stubborn, but I know you will be giving it to Him, whatever it is. π God bless you as you let Him reveal Himself to you over and over!
Amen! Sigh….
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” Jeremiah 17:9-10
Oh Deb, how many times have we made this petition (or at least a similar one possessing the same desire, yet in our own words) unto the Lord? …
“23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24
Oh, how we pray at times with groans…
” 24For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. 26Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:24-28
Yet these desires that we express, as we render up to the Father our petitions…they are most certainly according to His will; that will He works within us according to His good pleasure.
And then He honors our request, We mustn’t forget that He is outside of time. He then takes the heart of every believer…that heart that is so prone to harden and wax cold and makes it soft and tender again, because He loves us with an unfailing love, a love we can trust that will not disappoint us.
We might honor the Lord with our lips while our hearts are far from Him, but Oh how How the Spirit faithfully draws us!!! π
Love you.
Theresa
Oh I just loved this comment, wonderful woman of the Word! π “Because He loves us with an unfailing love, a love we can trust that will not disappoint us.” “How the Spirit faithfully draws us!”
π π π All will be given, all will be revealed. And once again you have brought us His comfort and peace. Thank you!
God bless you as you honor Him with your heart and your lips and your life!
love you!
