Of The Lord

“Then his father and mother said to him, ‘Is there no woman among the daughters of your brethren, or among all my people, that you must go and get a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?’ And Samson said to his father, ‘Get her for me, for she pleases me well’.” Judges 14:3
“But his father and mother did not know that it was of the Lord – that He was seeking an occasion to move against the Philistines.” Judges 14:4

Most of us figure out sooner or later that we have very little control over anyone else’s choices and behavior.

Oh Lord, help us to trust You and what You’ve said when things don’t appear to be going according to plans. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Even Now

How we thought things would turn out
slips right through our hands

how could this possibly be going
according to His plan

but He is not unknowing
nor has He lost control

and soon He’ll be showing
how even this is of the Lord.

  1. How we thought things would turn out
    slips right through our hands…

Bingo! This is the story of my life.

  2. Deb, I can’t go into detail here, but this is perfect for a situation that is going on in my life right now. Only it is someone else who can’t see that something is going according to His plan even though it didn’t go perfectly the way they thought it should. I know He is in control and the people involved will be blessed. Peace, Linda

  3. Oh me too Larry! I’m laughing as I type. I still have trouble with goal setting . . .:)
God bless you and how His story is displayed in your life!

  4. I love that you are getting to see this in action. 🙂 God bless you and yours and all that He is doing in and through you!

  5. Hi Debbie,

Your poem is a perfect example of chapters out of “a book”, that would tell the story of my life! “How could this possibly be going
according to His plan”, says it all too well! So much of what I’m going through I still don’t understand, but what keeps me going is, I know that God has the master plan! God is Sovereign, and my life is truly in His hands!

    God bless you,

    Paulette

  6. This seems to be true for so many, Paulette! Thank you for encouraging me that my own story is in His hands and going according to His plan!
God bless you for your life of praise and worship to Jesus, that helps us all to do the same.

  7. Sooooooo true!
How often we think WE know best! But of course, we don’t – and with hindsight we can see that He knew all along. His desire is ALWAYS for our best. How I look forward to the day when I will love and serve Him with NO distractions and with a full heart. “Even so come quickly Lord Jesus”

  8. God bless you , Angela, and your desire to love and serve Him always! I’m so thankful that your life is full of Him and how you share Him and praise Him.

  9. “but He is not unknowing
    nor has He lost control

    and soon He’ll be showing
how even this is of the Lord.”

    Yes..

“Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him. For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.” Psalm 103:13-14

    Love,
    Theresa
