A Little Help Please

“And Jepthat said to them, ‘My people and I were in a great struggle with the people of Ammon; and when I called you, you did not deliver me out of their hands’.” Judges 12:2
“So when I saw that you would not deliver me, I took my life in my hands and crossed over against the people of Ammon; and the Lord delivered them into my hand.” Judges 12:3

There are going to be times in our lives when no one can, or will, help us.

Lord, I thank You for all the wonderful people You put in my life that help me daily. I also thank You for the depth of Your love and faithfulness that sees me through the things I have to do on my own. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Ever Present Help

When waiting for human help
and help doesn’t come

the temptation rises to blame
and shame everyone

but going ahead and stepping out
to do what needs done

we find all the help we need
in Father, Spirit, and Holy Son.

  1. that is a great message in your poem.
I have a few folks I am really thankful for .

My wife’s brother and his family live in Ammon.

  2. “When waiting for human help
    and help doesn’t come

    the temptation rises to blame
    and shame everyone…”

Sadly, this is the truth about most of us Christians who are dependent on man and not God. Hopefully, we’ll soon change.

  3. Deb, What a wonderful reminder that even when we don’t find human help we always have God. I think sometimes He allows situations where no one will help us so that we can learn to rely more on Him. This is just precious:

we find all the help we need
in Father, Spirit, and Holy Son.

People will fail us, even those who love us, but God is ever faithful! Peace, Linda

  4. Hero, praying for you and that extended family in Ammon. God bless you and be your help!

  5. I get so used to doing things with God, just because of the nature of my situation. It keeps me certain of where the help comes from and always thankful when He sends it to me through others as well!
God bless you as you lean on Him today!

  6. Thank you for understanding my heart . . .again! πŸ™‚ He does have us help each other and I see the wonder of that all the time and witness the blessing. But there are some things we have to do in faith, with Him. Love our faithful Jesus!
God bless you as you go with Him today!

  7. Debbie, I’m very much a Holy Spirit kind of woman. I think sometimes, people are sent to us to act as we Christians all should act, as Jesus’ hands on earth.

There are folks so down they can’t remember their faith. I try to find these people, buy them coffee, and talk to them about what they need and how they can go about getting it.

I was once a girl without any faith. It took catastrophe for me to ask for help because I felt I was not worthy. Let’s all keep our eyes and ears and hearts open for these kinds of folks and see if WE can be angels ourselves! Loved it. Peace, my friend, and safety to your friend who has people in Ammon. My best friend in Buffalo is from Jordan, but she says she could not recognize it when she went back last year.

  8. Amy . . .that you thought yourself unworthy of help and so didn’t ask. wow. That opens my heart to a different way of seeing right there. Thank you!
God bless you as you look for others to help and reach out to with Jesus hands, feet and heart.
    love and prayers!

  9. I love how the Lord helps you embrace “dying to self”, and how you express it in your poetry. It inspires me.

    Love,
    Theresa

  10. He uses you to inspire me too, Theresa! πŸ™‚ It seems like it is taking me a long time to embrace that dying to self . . .my whole life! But He is faithful to keep teaching me. May I remain teachable!
God bless you and yours and give you wisdom and strength for your days!

  11. “There are going to be times in our lives when no one can, or will, help us.”

A while ago I had no one to help me… that is NO ONE…. my only friend refused to pray for me and accused me of always talking and never doing anything. She said “go to God” and I said “I do that all the time” I did feel like “blaming” her for my failure… but then I had to “go ahead and step out” …doing it by Faith all by myself and not put it off any longer

It was then God sent you Deb almost straight away… (and a few other new ones here and on YouTube since)

Yes, He wants us to trust in Him FIRST not second!… then we can know that we CAN do anything with ONLY His help.If we will just START… He will increase it and provide all we need (But is sure is nice to have that human friendship, support, prayer and Love as well… afterwards)
God is WISE! We have to learn to be Overcomers of the world, the flesh and the devil. Praise His Name. “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony”

    Thank You… Love from Susan.

  12. My darling Deb,
This is just wonderful…you bless me in so many ways πŸ™‚
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!
    love,
    your bee

  13. Thank you Deb.

“Lord, I thank You for all the wonderful people You put in my life that help me daily. I also thank You for the depth of Your love and faithfulness that sees me through the things I have to do on my own. ”

I still can’t come to terms with this …. only because it is on point to something I’ve been sorting through.

I am thankful that you shared in obedience what He has laid on your heart. Blessings to you over and over again. I so appreciate your ministry. (The comments show I’m not the only one who benefits from your walk with Him. Thank you for blessing us)

    Trusting,
    ann

  14. God bless you, Susan, for stepping out and doing what He had called you to do. It IS nice to have back-up and help . . .but I love how you put it, that He wants us to trust Him first. πŸ™‚
Your comment reminds me of a quote in a book that I’m reading by Jane Kirkpatrick. The main character says this . . .begin to weave, then God will provide the thread. πŸ™‚
    love and prayers!

  15. Oh beautiful Bee . . .you are so welcome. You know some about this kind of thing, about having human help, and not having help . . .about trusting God when you need help the most!!
God bless you and send you help today!
    love you!

  16. Ann full of Jesus grace . . .I do wonder about this post and did try to make sure I was saying it right, the way He wanted me to. Because we really should help each other. We should, but we mess up and let each other down. 😦
God bless you and keep you close today, being your help and your comfort . . .loving you!

  17. Friends are wonderful and God uses them many times to encourage, help and sometimes to challenge us. I am thankful for my friends (and especially for my best friend, my husband) but our very best Friend of all is ALWAYS available, always willing and ready and always has the very best advice – and not only that, but gives us the strength and ability to put that advice into practice – just as you say in your little poem. Thanks.

  18. I’m so thankful that He gives us friends and is a best friend! πŸ™‚ God bless you as you lean on Him today!

  19. Or let’s say pluck on the one string you do have left (GOD) and a whole new song will emerge! LOL Susan.

  20. πŸ™‚ Love that, Susan! Pluck away!
