Ministering To Jesus

“As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Now separate to me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them’.” Acts 13:2
“Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.” Acts 13:3

I’m more accustomed to hearing and thinking about us ministering to each other.

Jesus, please help me remember the importance of ministering to You today. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Me to You and You to Me

Lord, You are waiting
for me to come today
bringing You love and praises
as I fast and pray.

I don’t have to make it into
what I think it should be
to let a simple ministry happen
of me to You and You to me.

  1. Thanks Deb,

“… I don’t have to make it into
what I think it should be … ”

I really don’t have to. At all.

Sometimes He calls me to simple things but I go off and complicate it with me human ways… It’s not up to me to define what He wants. Thank you for reminding me to just ‘let it happen’ through Him.

    Blessings much,
    ann

  2. Thank you, Deb and Ann, for reminding me to commune and minister with Him in that close, intimate way and to just let it happen-to not contrive it. Deep simple wisdom.

Thank you, and thank you both,
    A.

  3. Beautiful, and thanks!

  4. “I don’t have to make it into
what I think it should be:

It’s not about me…thanks for the reminder, I needed it.

  5. If the Holy Spirit spoke, someone prophesied as this was a gathering of prophets and teachers. Thus, as in the Old Testament, ministering to the Lord can bring forth prophetic words.

  6. “I’m more accustomed to hearing and thinking about us ministering to each other.

Jesus, please help me remember the importance of ministering to You today. And here’s a simple poem . . .”

You have ministered to me, too. 🙂 Great poem and the message echoed what the Lord impressed on my mind when I got up this morning. I am almost in tears with gratitude to you and to Him.

    Love,
    Theresa

  7. Thank you, dear Ann full of grace, for your support and blessings! 🙂 You help me to see that it is okay, how I meet with Him.
God bless you as you minister to your Lord today!

  8. God bless you, sweet Angel A, as you and He come together. I love that part about to not contrive it. I do do that sometimes. 😦 Thank you for being here and for blessing us! 🙂

  9. God bless you, Ted, and thank you too!

  10. How often do I make it about me without realizing it? argh! God bless you Patricia, and your sweet ministry to us!

  11. Thank you, Larry, for that word and insight! I have noticed time after time through Acts, that prophets gather with the disciples. And too, for me, I’m noticing all the times it speaks of fasting and praying. God bless you and the prophetic words He speaks to you today.

  12. I love how He does that and works something that I have no clue about. 🙂 You are much in my prayers these days. God bless you and your time with Him, wonderful woman of the word! love you!
