“And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision contended with him,
saying, ‘You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!'” Acts 11:2-3
Some things that are wrong for me to do, are not necessarily wrong for someone else to do.
Lord, thank You for reminding me not to hold others to the same standards You hold me to. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Personal Precepts
You write Your word
upon our hearts
so we know
what to do
to love our God
and each other
to listen
and obey You.
Amen, Debbie. some things are wrong no matter what, while others are wrong for us because they will hurt us or our testimony.
Lord, reveal those things to me and give me the grace to accept them!
“…Some things that are wrong for me to do, are not necessarily wrong for someone else to do…”
This is a profound truth which we Christians need to learn so that we would quit judging others who are not like us.
I like how you said that, Ted . . .that some things are wrong no matter what. I didn’t put that part in! Thank you!
God bless you as He reveals all you need to know today!
I think I read a devotion a little like this once from Oswald Chambers . . .about not making our personal experiences into God’s precepts.
God bless you, Larry, for being who He’s called you to be.
The beauty of your heart is showing Deb. I thank the Lord for bringing in the deeper message of the verse through you. When we obey the Lord there is no time to judge others, which now brings me back to what I should be doing — keep on obeying the Lord no matter what. Hugggs and love to you π
You said it better than I could, Rea! π “When we obey the Lord there is no time to judge others.” You are so wonderful and wise. May our eyes stay on Him! God bless you and love to you too!
Thanks, Deb
“Lord, thank You for reminding me not to hold others to the same standards You hold me to.”
Praying, Deb. Praying this one hard too.
“Some things that are wrong for me to do, are not necessarily wrong for someone else to do.”
Lord, I am thankful that the place of judgement is Yours and Yours alone. Thanks for reminding us. Amen
Blessings,
ann
God bless you, Ann full of Jesus grace, as you pray and let Him judge. π You are a blessing and a help, an encouragement and a light for Him! Thank you!
