“But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Joshua 22:5
I recall a conversation with a dear neighbor. She said no one does all that God tells us to in the Bible. Maybe she’s right . . .but it doesn’t change my desire to want to.
Lord, I love you and I want to love You more. Please show me where I’m not following after You today. And here is a simple poem . . .
With Each Step
There are reasons
for all Your ways
and every one
is good.
Oh that my feet
would walk in them
just as You know
I should.
Thanks Deb
“…Oh that my feet
would walk in them…”
I so pray…
Blessings,
ann
“Maybe sheβs right . . .but it doesnβt change my desire to want to.”
Great answer, one I will remember for the future. Thanks.
If we could only put those feet on automatic pilot. π
God bless you, Ann full of Jesus grace, as you walk (dance!) with Him today!
I don’t do well verbally . . .never think of things until later. ha! But I do want to!!!
God bless you and your desire to walk in His ways!
The laws reflect the Lord’s ways.
“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”Proverbs 3:6
It should be the desire and prayer of every believer’s heart to have our ways become more like His ways. I also know that this side of Heaven we will always fall short…
“8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” Romans 11:33
“21Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
23But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:21-26
We should be so thankful the the Lord kept the law in our place. π
I know this comment ran long. Thank you for reminding me of the beauty in the law. All of His ways are beautiful…”Beautiful for situation”
Love,
Theresa
Deb, I know I have not kept all His commands, but I also desire to and desire to have Him create in me a clean heart. I know I can never do everything right on my own, but must rely on Jesus every step of the way. I love the simplicity of your poem that somehow captures the beauty of walking with Him. Peace, Linda
How I too long to walk in all His ways for they are life and love. Our desire should be to go every deeper to be ever more united to Him in truth.
Thanks for this,
Rachel
I love your long comments, Theresa, and the way you put scripture together. We know that His word is one of His ways and you keep us drenched in it. I love that! π Thank you so much!
Thankful with you that the Lord kept the law in our place! God bless you, wonderful woman of the Word, as you follow His ways.
So thankful for you , Linda, and your desire too, to walk with Him, His way. He knows our hearts and sees that desire and leads us on in Him.
My poems keep getting simpler and simpler. π
God bless you as you walk with Him today, seeking to stay in His footprints.
God bless you, dear Rachel, and you deep desire for all things Jesus. π
