“And the land was subdued before them.” Joshua 18:1
“But there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes which had not yet received their inheritance.” Joshua 18:2
“Then Joshua said to the children of Israel, ‘How long will you neglect to go and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers has given you’?” Joshua 18:3
The children of Israel had been quite busy with the subduing of the land. Maybe it slipped their minds exactly what they were fighting for.
Lord, in the activity of daily life, may I not neglect to possess all You have already given me. And here’s a simple poem . . .
It’s Ours
He stands there
arms and hands out
giving love
peace and rest.
We need not huddle
and stay bereft
when He offers
the very best.
Deb,
You have no idea how this has ministered to me this morning… Thank you for being obedient to His voice….I needed this today.
“Lord, in the activity of daily life, may I not neglect to possess all You have already given me.”
Amen
Blessings to you and yours, Dearest Delightful Deb. May your store houses always be filled to overflowing!
Possessive 😉
ann
II am so surprised to read Ann’s first paragraph because it exactly echoes what I was thinking. Your entire poem ministered to my fresh wound and is helping me regain a proper perspective. Thank you so much for what you do as His vessel and touch.
This is so good! We forget about what we really have.
Love,
Theresa
Thank you so much, Ann full of Jesus grace, for leaving a comment that ministers to me. 🙂 God is so good!
This is a time when being possessive is okay!
God bless you and all that He gives you freely today!
Angel A . . .I am so thankful that He would use this simple poem to help you in anyway. Praying for you as daily undergo battles and attacks. May He be your constant resting place, your safety and your Beloved.
God bless you and the difficult place and work He has you doing.
love you!
In the midst of our daily lives, it’s easy to forget that we are called to press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward calling in Christ.
I know that I sure do!
God bless you, wonderful woman of the Word, and all that you possess in Him!
love you!
Could I just copy and paste what Ann said?! 🙂
When I read your post, my spirit sighed as if a great weight had been removed!
My Deb, do you know how awesome you are, and what a wonderful gift our Lord has blessed you with?
I look forward to being blessed every time I read your poetry…and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting in the effort to bless me, and so many others…
love u!!
Bee
your perfect record of always leaving me better for having read you, and always making me smile when I read, remains intact 🙂 the stuff that you have the ability to say in so few words – that I have to take 5000 words four – that amazes me. And Amen – to be so occupied in the battle that I forget why I am fighting. Such a good lesson – thank you for that Debbie, thank you. I’m smiling, and my wheels are turning, and my heart is stopping a little – and resting in your words today. God bless and keep you my friend.
That’s really important, Larry, that possessing what He’s given us does take effort and a pressing on. Thank you so much! The years you’ve spent with Him have produced a wisdom and a focus that is a treasure to others . . .like me! 🙂 You should write a book. 😉
God bless you as you press on and in to Him.
Sweet Bee, you are a beautiful encourager. These are meant for me, I’m sure, from Him. Then if I share them and someone else can relate too? Wow . . .no longer am I alone here. What a true gift He has brought me in all of you. Sometimes I feel like what I write here is not that important, you know? But the people who reach out and comment and impact my life for Him . .. that’s the really important part. I have a really thankful heart right now . .. some tears . . .but smiles too!
God bless you for adopting me the way you have and brightening up my days with your comments and posts! 🙂
love and prayers!
Thank you for using those 5000 words for Him, to explain things my brain has trouble wrapping around! 🙂 I can use so few words because all of you come and fill in the missing parts. teehee!
God bless you and be with you in each battle . . .and victory!
