Servant of the Lord

“These Moses the servant of the Lord and the children of Israel had conquered; and Moses the servant of the Lord had given as a possession to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh.” Joshua 12:6

Moses is often referred to as the servant of the Lord. I think of all that he did, those kings he defeated, even though he wouldn’t continue on with the children of Israel.

Lord, please help my desire to serve out grow any desire to be served. And here’s a simple poem . . .

A Servant Heart

Servant leaders
are leaders who serve

who aren’t afraid
that they’ll be hurt

through helping others
and giving up their place

so someone else can have
a taste of His grace.

  3. It is a rare, but beautiful thing! Each year, someone here hosts a servant leader’s award and we can nominate who we feel in the community best exemplifies that. 🙂 God bless you as you serve Him and others, Larry, and show us what that looks like!

  4. Thank you, wonderful woman of the Word, for all the ways you serve and lead us closer to Him! God bless you!
    love ❤
p.s. your Ella taught me to make that heart. 🙂

  5. Thank you, Deb

    Absolutely wonderful!

    Praying alongside you,
    ann

  6. God bless you, Ann full of Jesus grace, as you serve and love in His name today! 🙂

  7. This poem is very precious, my Deb, and reminds me of the program we have at church called “Stephen Ministry”, which trains volunteers to minister to people who are going through difficult times.
I will forever cherish the wonderful women who donated their time to help me get through many painful events.
I love you for reminding me to say a thankful prayer…
    Bee

  8. That is so beautiful Bee. So often I hear stories of where the church let someone down, wasn’t there, hurt or judged wrongly. Thank you for sharing today of the ministry that helped you and left you thankful and cherishing others. You made my day! 🙂
God bless you and all your thankful prayers!
    love you!

  9. Deb, I’m finally getting caught up on your blog after vacation. What a wonderful post to come back to. The servant leader, as exemplified by Jesus as He washed the feet of the disciples, is what I strive to be, though I’m not sure I always succeed. Peace, Linda

  10. What a wonderful example, Linda! I might do the serving, but need to make sure I have the right heart attitude when I do it too! 🙂
God bless you as you serve others each day for Jesus!
