Standing in the Midst

“So the priests who bore the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan until everything was finished that the Lord had commanded Joshua to speak to the people, according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua; and the people hastened and crossed over.” Joshua 4:10
“Then it came to pass, when all the people had completely crossed over, that the ark of the Lord and the priests crossed over in the presence of the people.” Joshua 4:11

Once again God made the impossible possible for the children of Israel, as they crossed over the flooded Jordan on dry ground.

Thank You, Lord, for making a way for us to stand and walk through the flood of our situations that seek to knock us off our feet and keep us from You. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Through the Flood

Over the banks
dark waters rise
but You want us on
the other side
so You make a way
for us to cross
and no one drowns
no one’s lost.

  1. Thanks Deb!

    “You make a way
    for us to cross
    and no one drowns
    no oneโ€™s lost.”

What a beautiful assurance!! Thank you for sharing this here today, Deb. This is super!

Nothing can pluck us out of His hands!! – John 10:29
Nothing can separate us from His love!!! – Romans 8:38-39
Not one of you will be lost!! – Acts 27:25

I am His – and that is truly a wonderful feeling!! I cannot slip through the cracks. I cannot be forgotten. I cannot be overlooked. Sweet!!

    Blessings,
    ann

  2. Deb, “Once again God made the impossible possible. . .” This story is just one example of when God does that. What we think is impossible is always possible with God. As Jesus said, โ€œWith man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.โ€ Matthew 19:26 (NIV). Peace, Linda

  3. I agree with Ann and her use of John 10:29.

  4. I am so glad He made a way. Thank you for this great post!

    Love,
    Theresa

  5. Ann full of Jesus grace . . .I love all the scriptures you added! Those are so wonderful and perfect for us to remember, no matter where we’re standing or what we have to cross. He’s got us!
God bless you for such a great encouragement today!
P.S. do you do guest blogs? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. I just love it, Linda. Ann looked at the aspect of us not being lost from Him and you look at how He makes the impossible possible. ๐Ÿ™‚ And another wonderful scripture to encourage us with! yay!
God bless you and all that He makes possible for you today! Thank you!

  7. Thank you, Larry, for being here and adding your thoughts and insights and agreements! ๐Ÿ™‚ God bless you as He keeps you in the center of His hand today!

  8. God bless you, wonderful woman of the Word. Praying just that today with you, that He will make a way, make the impossible possible . . .save, cover, and carry across. Love you!

  9. So the Priests held up the Ark of the “Covenant”… as the way for the people to “CROSS over” into the promised land…
Not we as Priests hold up the Lord of the “Covenant” as “The Way” for people to cross over into His Kingdom by the CROSS!
Get is… the way to cross over? The Way of the CROSS of Christ to Eternal Life?
    Blessings Susan

  10. This just keeps getting more and more wonderful as each person comments . . . and much deeper too! Thank you and God bless you, sweet Susan, for holding Him up as a way for anyone who so desires to come and cross over to the other side!
    love you!

  11. How often does God make a way, and we are just as grateful as we can be? I’m thinking lately about all that He does for me and it slips right by, or I don’t see it till the next day.

Are we really that much different than the Israelites? Praise God for that…

  12. We do see miracles everyday, don’t we? He does make a way for me all the time or I wouldn’t make it!
God bless you Linda, as He continues to bless you and make a way for you, even in the floods. love you!

  13. I’m holding onto this poem today. I have some dark waters to cross. I know He’ll get me safely to the other side, I’ve seen Him do it before. I just need to keep my eyes fixed on Him instead of the flood forming around me.

    Thank you, Deb. ♥

  14. I will be praying with you too, for Him to see you through this flood, and for all that is on the other side! God bless you and send love to you!

  15. “…dark waters rise…”
I have mental pictures every time I read your poems, my deb.
Today they aren’t so great…I felt the dark water trying to engulf me…probably because I am writing about the abuse on my blog.
I know my ex-husband, and Satan, would prefer to shut me up.
But I’m shaking off the feeling while saying “Satan, get behind me!”
    Praise be to God!!!
Thank you for helping me with your poetry…it is like getting a mini therapy session ๐Ÿ™‚
You are an awesome voice for the Lord above…may He bless you today and always. Love you,
    Bee

  16. Praying for you Bee, for all that He is doing through you. I thought about what kind of attacks you may come under for stepping out in obedience to Him. So thankful that nothing can separate you from His love! Asking Him to carry you over those dark waters each time they rise, to be your strength and strong tower.
God bless you, Bee, as you stand for Him and in Him!
    love you!
