This Is Eternal Life

“And this is eternal life, that they may know You; the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” John 17:3

The only true God wants us to know Him and be with Him forever.

Thank you, Lord, for sending us eternal life through Jesus. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Within Reach

We can know You
if we want to
we can see You
with our own eyes
we can touch You
if we reach out
we can believe and have
Eternal Life.

  1. He wants our Love so much. He has prepared wonderful things for those who do.What an unspeakable thing it is to know and worship The Father of Love!
Love you Deb… bless you for your beautiful heart after God… full of His Love for others… Hey it’s all about Love!
    Susan

  2. It’s amazing how you can write “simple poems” day after day. How do you do it? Do you have days when nothing seems to work? Or is it just automatic?

  3. Thank you, Deb

“we can … if we want to”

That sums up much for me. It’s up to us – “if we want to”

Beautiful piece as always! Thanks for sharing.

(Curious as to the answer to Larry’s question πŸ™‚ )

    Blessings,
    ann

  4. Deb, I love this verse and your poem. We can know Him, if we want to. He has not hidden Himself from us. And we don’t have to wait until we die to have eternal life! We can have it here and now by deciding to get to know Jesus. I see Him in His faithful followers, like you. I see Him in answers to prayer. Thank you for another beautiful, simple poem that is so full of depth and truth. Peace, Linda

  5. God bless you, Susan, and the wonderful ministry of love that He has given you . . .which you do out of love for Him and others!! Thank you so much for being here and blessing me! πŸ™‚
    love you!

  6. I think the key is that . . .He helps me!!! ha! And . . .they’re simple!!! It’s not what poets would consider real poetry, but yes, they do just keep coming out of me. I read the chapter and wait for Him to make something in it stand out more than the rest. Sometimes that takes awhile. Then comes the observation part and prayer . . .and then the “poem”. I wonder if it’s just too much to post them everyday. Do I get on people’s nerves? ha!
God bless you , Larry, and the gift of prophecy that He has called you to.

  7. God bless you, Ann full of Jesus grace, for wanting to know Him and love Him each day! You inspire me!

  8. I love that, Linda, our eternal life starts now! πŸ™‚ And I was going to put “with our soul’s eye” for seeing Him, but changed it back to our own eyes. Because we can see Him all around us . . .if we want to. πŸ™‚
God bless you and the way you share His love with us!

  9. “The only true God…”

Aren’t you sick to death of today’s trend of making anything at all your “higher power”? How offensive must this be to our God, our Savior?

It’s always good to enjoy the truth in your words, your poems, and you! : )

  10. That does make me sad too, Linda, each time I hear another name where His should be. πŸ™‚ So thankful that He is patient and slow to anger!
God bless you, beautiful one, as God moves in you and through you in powerful ways. There was something so so compelling in that cracker story . . .I can’t escape it. Thank you!

  11. YOU? Get on people’s nerves? Ha! to that Deb! Keep it coming. You are very faithful. My site is entirely different. This is probably what a Blog is supposed to be… a kind of daily diary of one’s thoughts? If people want to come they will. That is not up to you.
The point is “they” will know YOU are always here if and when “they” want to come.Like me now and again.Yes I expect you to be here now!!!!!
You are a Christian Mystic even if you don’t know it!You draw on the unspoken mysteries. Jesus /Yeshua as Rabbi, Master and Teacher taught his disciples(ones who learn)the mysteries of the Kingdom of God but to “those outside” he spoke in Parables so they WOULD NOT UNDERSTAND. This goes very deep…the inner/spirital versus the outer/mental.Mhhh????
You are touching on what is called Biblical Meditation and your poetry, though it may not always “rhyme”…is the outworking of your spiritual communion with the Father of Love in the secret place of prayer.Your words and your replies to comments are Loving and Spiritually sensitive… by the Spirit of Prophecy.(for all that is inspired by the Holy Spirit is “prophetic” in some way)
You have a very sensitive ability to “muse” on scriptures and hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to you TODAY through them for they are timeless. Then that starts others receiving their own interpretation of what the Spirit is saying!
With myself it comes forth as spiritual songs from my heart…some of which I will share asap.
Hope this clarifies and encourages you Love in our Lord’s Spirit… the “Breathe of God”…Susan.

  12. “We can know him if we want to”

    I am so thankful.

    “we can see You
    with our own eyes”

To behold Him whenever we go to the word…whenever we bow our heads in prayer, and some day face to face…and to think I allow my busyness to draw me away from that privilege. But I always know when I have done that, because my heart starts to ache for Him when that happens.

Thank you for sharing this precious reminder.

    Love,
    Theresa
