Over Taken

“And all these blessings shall come upon you and over take you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God.” Deuteronomy 28:2

The people had been overtaken by the Egyptians, by fear, by oppression, and by doubt. To be overtaken by blessings? That was something to be glad about!

Oh Lord, we thank You for the blessings You lavish upon us. But may we be overtaken more and more by the desire to hear and obey Your voice. And here is a simple poem . . .

His Voice In Our Ear

God is talking
and we’re listening
wanting to know
what He’s all about.
We are asking
God is answering
oh so close
no need to shout.

  1. The verse is so exciting for me Deb because God fulfills His promises! Even without opening my mouth, He sometimes grants the desire of my heart and I call it miracle knowing that not all of my desires are His too 🙂

  2. I loved your poem and that we can be overtaken with blessings!

Thank you so much for sharing this. 🙂

  3. “…overtaken by blessings.”
If only more people knew this is what happens when we obey our Heavenly Father.
    Thank you so much, Deb!
May blessings overtake you today and always.
    Love, Bee

  4. Hi Debbie,

And, we are told that the Lord came Elijah as a still, small voice — not as any earth-shattering event. :)…

  5. I love all that God is doing for you and through you, sweet Rea! 🙂 God bless you more and more!

  6. I love that too! It was such a sweet surprise to read that. Praying that those blessing over take you all the time!! 🙂 love you!

  7. I agree, Bee! We think of obedience as such a hard thing, but it is such a blessing to be obedient. Praying that I may be, more and more. 🙂 Just because I love Him.
God bless you and yours today!

  8. Love that Margaret! 🙂 Thank you so much for your meaningful comments and your obedience to Him.
    love and blessings!

  9. Thank you, Dear Deb

    I like this mucho 🙂

“Oh Lord, we thank You for the blessings You lavish upon us. But may we be overtaken more and more by the desire to hear and obey Your voice.”
Praying alongside you, Deb. Thank you for praying that we not only hear, but that that we obey.

May your storehouses of (love, laughter, joy, thanksgiving, patience, kindness, physical supplies and all good things) never run out!

Blessings (pressed down, shaken together and running over),

  10. I was over taken by your comment, Ann full of grace! 🙂 I love it so much when God shares something with me and want to be quick to obey. Thank you for praying with me to do just that! God bless you for all the ways He blesses us through you! 🙂

  11. “…no need to shout.”

Those Israelites sure did their share of shouting, and it always comforts me to be reminded how much God loved them anyway. Your poem is as heartfelt and beautiful as always! God bless you…

  12. You are so right, lovely Linda! YOU are as heartfelt and beautiful as always. So glad you are here to bless us and make our blogs more complete. God bless you and love you!
