God Walking

“For the Lord your God walks in the midst of your camp, to deliver you and give your enemies over to you; therefore your camp shall be holy, that He may see no unclean thing among you, and turn away from you.” Deuteronomy 23:14

God walks among His people Israel because He wants to. He wants to be with them. He loves them.

Jesus, thank You for walking among us, living within us . . .for wanting to do that, for loving us that much. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Amidst Us

God looks at us
and sees You

making us holy
through and through

delivering us
from the control of sin

defeating the enemy
again and again.

  1. This is a very nice poem.
    So true

  2. Thank you Deb 🙂

“He looks at us and sees (me) ” !!!
This reminds me of the woman who touched His garment on His way to visit Jairus’ daughter. The crowd pressed in but He felt her need of Him.

So thankful His blood is sufficient.

Blessings and thank you!! What a wonderful way to start the day!

  3. See how excited I am ? :-d

  4. Thank you for this great reminder of just how much the Lord loves us. 🙂

  5. Deb, My favorite name for Jesus is Immanuel. I love the truth of God with us. He has always wanted to be with us, to walk among His people. That’s how it started in the garden, He walked with Adam and Eve until they sinned and caused separation, and He’s been trying to restore our walk with Him ever since. I was just reminded of a song, which my mother-in-law has said is her favorite hymn, called “In the Garden.”

Thanks for another wonderful poem to remind me of how much He loves me. Peace, Linda

  6. Linda, that was my father’s favorite, also. thanks for the warm reminder. 🙂 I love that-that he has been trying to restore our walk with Him ever since. Love that image versus the thought that He has been sternly trying to correct us ever since.

  7. Deb, I love the descriptions you give of the ways He so powerfully works on our behalf!

  8. Debbie,

What good reason to walk according to the love of God, because we know He is walking right beside us.

  9. God bless you Hero! 🙂 That was a very nice comment too.

  10. You make me excited! Today I dub thee Ann full of excited grace! 🙂 I love where God took this with you too.
God bless you and cover you today!

  11. teehee! 🙂 Excited for Jesus is good . . .and contagious!

  12. Here in the old testament, well sometimes it gets kind of heavy, lots of judgments. I don’t want to get away from the fact that God loved/loves His people. . .He loves us.
God bless you and pour His love out on you today!
    love you too!

  13. Oh Ann, I thank Linda for helping with that too, in her comment and her song! Thank you Linda!!!! I think that was what He wanted me to get here, because Deuteronomy can be kind of stern. God bless you Linda, for adding that wonderful Jesus glorifying comment and song!

  14. God bless you, Angel! Praying and believing that He is doing just that today in your life, working powerfully and loving powerfully too! love you!

  15. I love that Margaret . . .it gives us a confidence to walk on! God bless you and all the ways He moves in you! love and thanks!

  16. Deb, what a lovely poem! It is interesting to see how the Old Testament writers talk of God walking among them, even though they did not have the experience of knowing that the Son of God DID walk among the people on earth. Thanks for inspiring me to study Scripture this morning. Love, Bee

  17. That is really cool Bee! Thanks for pointing that out! 🙂 Glad to have inspired you. You do that to me all the time! 🙂 God bless you and love on you!

  18. Can’t thank God enough for walking amongst us. He defeated my enemies again and again. It great to be in His team Deb 🙂

  19. Can’t thank God enough for walking amongst us. He defeated my enemies again and again. It’s great to be in His team Deb 🙂

  20. Oh yes it is! Thanking Him with you for being with us! love you, Rea Sonshine! thanks for lighting up this blog!
