Found Slain

“If anyone is found slain, lying in the field in the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess, and it is not known who killed him . . .” Deuteronomy 21:1
“‘Provide atonement, O Lord, for Your people Israel, whom You have redeemed and do not lay innocent blood to the charge of Your people Israel.’ And atonement shall be provided on their behalf for the blood.” Deuteronomy 21:8
“So you shall put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you when you do what is right in the sight of the Lord.” Deuteronomy 21:9

God alone is the Judge of His people Israel, whom He has redeemed and made atonement for.

Thank you Lord, for being the atonement for us all. And here’s a simple poem . . .

A man is found dead
out lying in a field

no one knows what happened
or by whom he was killed

but Jesus has seen it
Jesus has heard

and Jesus has come
to take away the guilt of this world.

  1. Deb, I am praying for you this wee morning. You are not forgotten in the night. May our Father bless you and keep you and strenghen you at this time, and make a way for you, precious friend. thank you for sharing how Jesus makes a way for us all!

  2. Angel! What are you doing up? ha! God bless you too, and send you love and help, peace and comfort for each day. The place He has you in sounds so challenging. So praying for lots of grace too! You are a blessing and a sweet praise poured out for Jesus and us.
love you! Thank you for this wonderful encouragement. You made my day already and it’s only a little after 1 a.m. haha! How’s that for God answering prayers?

  3. Thank you, Deb

Beautiful piece πŸ™‚ May God continue to speak to you as you share with us. Thanks for helping me read (with meaning) the books I normally don’t spend much time on.

    “…no one knows what happened
or by whom he was killed

    but Jesus has seen it
    Jesus has heard…”

Those who do wrong may feel they have gotten away if no one sees them but it’s wonderful to know that Jesus sees all. He sees all that goes wrong and He offers forgiveness to all…

  4. I am so thankful Jesus takes away the guilt. This was another great post.

  5. Ann full of grace . . .thank you for bringing grace and more to this post. You made it beautiful with your comment! πŸ™‚
God bless you as you keep encouraging others in their walks with Him!

  6. Theresa, I have much to feel guilt over! Sometimes I am dumbfounded that I don’t! Your comment helped me be even more thankful for how Jesus does that.
God bless you and thank you for your faith and love!
    love you too!

  7. Hi Debbie,

β€œSo you shall put away the guilt of innocent blood from among you when you do what is right in the sight of the Lord.” Deuteronomy 21:9

The elders of the nearest city washed their hands over the sacrifice given, and declared their innocence in this awful sin…. They had not committed the sin, but it was right in the sight of the Lord that the people express sadness over such a wrong because there is still “the guilt of innocent blood”.

As a Christian community, we too, need to express sorrow regarding all the sins committed around us — where ever we are…. We cannot let our hearts become hardened and cold regarding sin….. Thank you for featuring this truth.

  8. Thank you for featuring the truth in this even better! ha! I love you blessing us with your insight and knowledge. You always see something more, a detail that adds to the whole.
God bless you and surround you with His love today!

  9. Simple…sweet…and oh, so lovely! Thank you πŸ™‚

  10. YOU are simply sweet. πŸ™‚ this is not one of my favorite posts, but . . . Everyone that comes makes it all better! ha!
God bless you and keep you joyfully, Bee!

  11. I forgot…I did get this post. Hmmmm….

  12. Glad you came back though. So I can say, Hi! and thank you and love you! ha! Maybe it was because it was so early in the morning. Really early in the morning! πŸ™‚ God bless you, Angel, and fill you with His strength and love!
