On The Verge

“And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies; do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified of them’.” Deuteronomy 20:3

The people of Israel HAD to enter into battle. So do we.

Oh Lord, we desire to see and enter onto the spiritual battlefield before us each day. And here is a simple poem . . .

The Good Fight

I’m on the verge of battle
but not even aware
so the enemy keeps taking
everything that’s there.

But You have given me a weapon
it’s powerful and called prayer –
time to awake and be a warrior,
to truly fight if indeed I care.

  1. very lovely blog.

  2. “Prayer”… May we never forget what a powerful weapon that is. Thank you so much for this important reminder.

  3. Hi Debbie,

There are also accounts of praising God before and during battle…. Praise is a way of praying.

  4. God bless you, sweet woman of the word. Most people know this. Nothing new. But I don’t think that I always fully use it the way I could/should. Praying to get better at praying. 🙂
    love you!

  5. Thanks Margaret for adding that, another powerful tool for us to use. 🙂
God bless you as you pray and praise today!

  6. Thanks for such a nice comment, Kevin. 🙂 God bless you as you write your poetry to inspire and make us smile!

  7. Debbie thank you to and i have to say as person who works with people with special needs i can understand what your life is like as mother with child who has special needs .well done as its not easy bieng a parent in your situation .

  8. Thanks Deb

Good to be reminded to suit up for war. Thanks for reminding us of the necessity of praying. Prayer is truly a great warfare tool. Thankful for the opportunity we have to go directly to Him.

Praying your strength as you walk through.

  9. What Margaret said 🙂

  10. It was a reminder/confirmation that I needed. So that always means everyone else gets to listen to it too. ha!
God bless you and all the prayers you enter into!

  11. Amen-ing that and you too! 🙂

  12. “time to awake and be a warrior”

I wholeheartedly agree with that (not that you should in particular . . . all of us)

    Still fighting btw.

  13. Thank you for staying on the battlefield. I’m with you. 🙂 She’s been having a few big seizures this weekend, along with the flu. Pretty miserable young lady right now. But I’m not backing down. Not one bit. Once again, God has helped us. I had the flu too, but not as bad, so I could take care of her. 🙂
God bless you and yours, Mike, and all He is leading you to.

  14. I am so sorry to hear that the weekend was so rough. I’m praying.

  15. Theresa . . .you are the sweetest. I covet your prayers. And I know someone(s) been praying because of me doing well enough to take care of things. 🙂 I just forgot that you would get that comment reply too . . .didn’t want to worry you or add to what you were already going through!
Thank you so much, sweet friend and prayer warrior!
    love you!

  16. I think there are people who are unaware of the immense power of prayer, and I thank you for bringing your poem to our attention! We are called to pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
From the other comments I see you are having difficulties and I will pray for you.
God bless you Deb! Love you.

  17. I know what you mean, Bee. I find myself slipping into the old “I can’t do anything but pray”. . .like it’s something of a side note. Something for losers. And that is just a lie. One of many I get handed but I don’t have to accept them. 🙂
Thank you so much for praying for us . . .and everyone else too, thank you too! Things are getting better! yay Jesus! Yay to my praying friends!
love you, Bee! God bless you as you live for Him.
