“He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,
saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
And they remembered His words.” Luke 24:6-8
His words came to life for them. The Word came to life for us.
Thank You, Lord, for being the living Word that breathes in us each and every day. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Risen Words
He spoke volumes
in the time
He spent with them,
filling up the pages
of their empty hearts.
So when the time
was right
and a nudge was given,
their souls fell open
to the life He had wrought.
Thank you, Deb 🙂
I imagine this ‘aha’ moment and it warms my heart. Sure, they had heard it… maybe they hadn’t really expected the story line to play out this way? (Wonder what I would have done if I lived back then…)
Praying right beside ya! :Thank You, Lord, for being the living Word that breathes in us each and every day”
Beautiful work as always. May He continue to inspire your thoughts as you simply 😉 share the truth.
Here’s Fred Hammond for you – ‘Living Word’!
“Manger born, but on a tree
You died to save humanity
You are the Living Word”
Blessings,
ann
Deb, This reminds me of one of my favorite verses in John 1 – “The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.” Then He became resurrected flesh after dying for our sins! I love how your poem illustrates the time and care He spent sharing His words of truth with the disciples so they could pass it on to us. Peace, Linda
I love this reminder of all the Lord writes in our hearts.
“Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.” 2 Corinthians 3:3
Thank you Deb for this great post!
Hi Debbie,
How true…. When we keep on remembering and remembering, His words come to life for us.
Love,
Margaret
I love that verse in John too! 🙂 It also reminds me of no matter how many times we read the Bible, each time something different stands out to us, comes alive for us.
God bless you as He lives in you today!
I loved that, the “aha” moment. 🙂 That is certainly what must have happened. I always think that way too, Ann, that none of this was happening the way they thought it would. And isn’t that so true of us and our lives as well?
You had Aubrey and I singing and swaying with Fred today. Thank you for the blessing, Ann full of grace!
Oh woman of the word, I love that verse from 2 Corin. !!! 🙂 It goes so well with this. And it excites me at what all He’s written on our hearts, that is coming to life each day.
God bless you and yours, and all He is in you.
Thank you so much, for that wisdom, Margaret! 🙂 Let us keep reading and remembering, knowing His words are alive. You are such a blessing! God bless you and your ministry that glorifies Jesus.
Amen to that!
It’s always reassuring to remember that the disciples needed a nudge, too…
“Their souls fell open to the life He had wrought.”
I count on you to keep putting these reminders in front of me, always adding a new layer of understanding… Beautiful work, Deb… 🙂
God bless you for the nudges you give me as well, in all sorts of ways! You are precious and I’m glad you are settling in again. (selfishly . . .now you will write more for me to read! 😉 )
Amen to your amen, hero! 🙂
Thank you, Deb, for just providing a safe, peaceful place to rest and to learn. Today I am just resting here, thankful to read the words that you and your friends have shared in this place. Sometimes, doesn’t life just hit so hard that all we can do is lie on our stretcher and endure the jostling and be grateful for the help and look for the day when we can sit up and wobble off the stretcher and begin to walk toward the window and the light, even? Thank you, Deb, for sharing His rest with others of us out here. I pray for your life to be blessed, too, and for your energy to be renewed-wings of eagles.
Praying for you Angel, and so thankful that you are here, bringing His love and peace and joy with you. I have days like that too . . .the stretcher kind. You have blessed me to remember that once again, we will get up and to just accept help when we can’t for awhile. And to be grateful. Always grateful. You wrote a whole post and devotion in your comment, Angel style! 🙂
God bless you and the Light you shine.
