Pressing In

“The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it.” Luke 16:16

When my daughter presses two different colors of playdoh together, it becomes impossible to separate them again.

Thank You, Lord, for the process of us being pressed together with You and becoming one. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Without Wrinkle

The urgency of
Thy Kingdom come
and the unstoppable force
of Thy will being done
presses us in
to becoming one
in the blood and the power
of God’s Only Son.

  1. Deb, This was a wonderful poem to start my day with. 🙂 I love this part:

    and the unstoppable force
    of Thy will being done

    Peace, Linda

  2. I loved this post! It is so true!

  3. Thank you, Deb!

I like this much 🙂 The visual is giving me goosebumps.

    Pressed in,

(Trying to find Phil Driscoll’s make us one. brb)

  4. There is something about Jesus saying “everyone is pressing into it” that grabs me. Makes me know, I know, I know this is true, no matter what I think I see going on.
God bless you and yours today!

  5. God bless you as you press into Him today! 🙂

  6. God bless you, graciously pressed Ann! 🙂

  7. Blessings to you, Delightful Deb

    Here goes 🙂

    “Make us one heart
    Make us one mind
Make us one. Let Your will be done
    Make us one flame
    To proclaim Your name
Make us one. Make us one!”

  8. Ann-full-of-grace! Thank you for the song! Thank you for taking the time to do that for me and everyone here! Thank you for spreading His grace everywhere you go! I am so humbled and blessed. I love being made one in Him with you. 🙂

  9. The playdough picture-what a perfect illustration! I can so get that one! Deb, you really make passages come alive and reveal their meat in such simple ways!

  10. You are the sweetest, Angel! We do lots of playdoh here . . .not sure how many bible lessons I can get from it, but lots of playdoh. ha! I have to do simple. God gives me ideas in simple terms because He knows me. He’s so good to me that way. And then He gives me beautiful people like you and everyone else here, who encourage me to keep writing simple poems and devotions. Thank you and God bless you!

  11. The thought is so beautiful! FUNtastic to include the playdoh 🙂

  12. Glad you could relate to that! 🙂 Sometimes the playdoh becomes one with the rug or clothing… but it still portrays the point of pressing in, right? 🙂 God bless you and your kiddos! I am so blessed to have you here!

  13. Thank you, Deb! You have such a wonderful way of explaining things to me! I never would have thought of using such imagery! Thank you for these words!

  14. Thanks for encouraging me, Eric! And praying for me too, to keep listening for Him and writing down what comes. God bless you as you press into Him today!
