Full of Light

“If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.” Luke 11:36

My youngest daughter is most secure and comfortable in well lighted areas, without shadows or darkness.

Thank You, Lord, for filling us with the brightness of Your life within. If there is any area I’m keeping You out of, please show me and help me let You in. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Lit By Him

I once lived in darkness
now I dwell in light
once I couldn’t find my way
now it’s in plain sight

for I accepted the One who loves me
who died for my sin
and He set ablaze every room
glowing eternally within.

  1. Amen… The beautiful thing about this is we are mirrors of His light. So we reflect His light to others around. Debs may you shine from Him gloriously. “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.” Isaiah 60:1
Thank God for His light and His light through us.

  2. Oh Rita, what a beautiful verse to add! 🙂 You made it shine here, with that comment and your Jesus heart! God bless you as you glorify Him today!

  3. I am glad that you wrote about this. Thank you.

  4. Deb, How awesome it is to now live in His light! I love this poem. I once lived in darkness, too.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. John 1:5-9.

Just like John the Baptist, we are called to witness to the light. Great job! Peace, Linda

  5. Thank you, Deb

His Light shines through you. Thank you for always sharing His light with us.

[ I have much in common with your youngest. I’m sure we have at least ten flashlights and countless candles in strategic locations in our home 🙂 ]

So thankful I saw the Light!

  6. I’m glad that you are full of light and shine it for everyone so beautifully! God bless you and yours and all the ways He works through you.

  7. Thank you for the John 1:5-9 verse! To be witnesses to the Light. . .love that. God bless you Linda, as you witness today!

  8. LOVED the video. Youngest watched too. 🙂 I have a feeling you are so bright and lovely in Jesus, you wouldn’t even need a flashlight or candle in the dark. You glow. 🙂
God bless you and keep you filled with His light!

  9. Wow this is so beautiful! I remember the dark place I was in and how thankful I am when I saw His magnificent light! Keep on shining Deb 🙂

  10. Being full of light is so much better than where I was at before! Like being on the beach, all the time. 🙂 God bless you Rea Sonshine and all the light you bring with you everywhere you go.

  11. Ditto shadows or darkness.
    Ditto search my heart.

Our challenges sometimes sound very similar. God bless you for being a mom who is the light.

A while back while praying to be a better wife, I used to force myself to sound like the light when I opened my mouth. Then one day, I realized that God answered my prayer, and the “light” happy voice became completely natural! How awesome is that! I’ll never love Him enough for how he has blessed me!

    Hugs to you… 🙂

  12. I love it when you comment. 🙂
Thank you for sharing about the light happy voice. That is just so like Jesus, so what He does. Makes me cry. I ran into the store tonight with dear daughter waiting in the car and saw someone I haven’t seen for maybe 10 to 13 years. As I hugged her long, she asked how I was doing, if I feel like the walls are closing in on me. And I said I am doing . . .wonderful! No problem with the walls! ha! It was like you, Linda, in that moment of realizing your voice was now just naturally light and happy. I realized how wonderful and blessed I feel each day, how okay I am, and that it’s all because of Him. This friend asked me how and I told her . . .Jesus! That’s how! 🙂
God bless you and all the ways you bless us!

  13. Light one candle and you can touch the flame to a new wick. That candle will light just as brightly without taking the first candle’s strength. And so it will continue until a thousand new flames can flicker all from the strength of hope the first candle shared.

That is a lot like His Light. It is a strength and wonder we are lucky to have and share! Thanks for the beautiful post!

  14. Tara! How blessed and honored I am that you are here! What a beautiful way of showing how His light works. Thank you for that! Praying we light someone’s candle today! God bless you Tara and all the amazing ways you share His light!

  15. Hugs to you…
