Sharing Those Things Believed

“In as much as many have taken in hand to set in order a narrative of those things which are most surely believed among us,
just as those who from the beginning were eye witnesses and ministers of the word delivered them to us,
it seemed good to me also . . .” Luke 1:1-2

This is how The Gospel According to Luke starts out. Even though many had already recorded the story of Jesus, it didn’t stop him from doing it too. I’m so glad.

Thank You so much, Jesus, for all the people who continue to share “those things which are believed among us.” And here is a simple poem . . .

Let Me Hear Yet Again

Can I ever hear
enough about You
can I ever read
all there is to read?
Do I ever tire
of finding the light switch?
oh no, Lord
this could never be!

I want to let everyone know about a new online Christian Journal, http://idyllsfortheking.wordpress.com.
Eden Ellis is the editor and seeking fiction/poetry/song lyrics/photos that glorify and honor God. The idea is for it to be like this verse, a place to continue telling those things which are believed among us. I hope you are encouraged in Christ while reading there and contribute to the telling too! πŸ™‚

  1. We never grow tired! I am glad you never grow tired. You share so much encouragement from the word. πŸ™‚

    Love,
    Theresa

  2. Deb, This is just like when I heard the sermon last week on the Gospel! I loved hearing it again! I could hear or read about Jesus forever and never grow tired. I am so glad Luke took the time to tell it again, to “carefully investigate everything” and to “give an orderly account.” (verses 3 & 4). Peace, Linda

  3. Reading in Luke this morning, I found a verse all about you. πŸ™‚ It was the one of Mary keeping all those things in her heart and pondering them there. You have so much Jesus in your heart and you think on Him throughout the day(s), sharing from those precious times with us. God bless you for your ever pondering on Him and the comfort you bring to others through your time with Him!

  4. It so is just like that time you recently experienced! πŸ™‚ Doing these little devotions and poems as I go through the gospels, knowing many will be saying the same things, nothing new, nothing not already heard . . .well, this just blessed me. It’s okay if I say the same thing each day about Jesus, as long as it glorifies Him! God bless you and your love of hearing the gospel over and over again!

  5. Thanks, Debbie for your kind comments on my poetry. Your site is worth coming back to. God Bless, Mike.

  6. “He is the same, yesterday, today and forever
    His unchanging love is forever!”

    Thanks, Deb

Same ol’ story … “Of Jesus and His love!”

    Blessings,
    ann

  7. I love you adding that Ann, full of grace! Sharing what is believed among us – His unchanging love – is something that we need to keep doing! God bless you for being His love to us each day!

  8. It encourages me so much to find others writing poetry about Him, in some way. πŸ™‚ Your poems teach and reach and bless! It just doesn’t get any better than that. πŸ™‚ God bless you for sharing His story!

  9. You’ve found my Blogger site, nice to see you there. I have written over 480 poems in 12 years and nowadays they have slowed down a bit. Mike.

  10. Hi Deb,
Thank you for the “like”. I never know what I’ll write in my blog when I sit down. It’s evident to me now that reading your last posting was an inspiration for my entry. I can only hope that my words will inspire someone else. have a great week.
    Love in Him
    Joe

  11. Yes, yes, I praise God for all those whose words (and works) testify to His love!

  12. You not knowing what you will write on your blog is all the more evidence of Him! πŸ™‚ You are doing great! God bless you as you bear witness to His grace and glory!

  13. There really can’t be too many acts and words about Jesus and His love, can there? πŸ™‚ Thank you and God bless you for all those beautiful poems you share and add to witness of Him.

  14. Never ever! So many things to hear but the truth about Him are the most precious!

That’s why your blog is oh so precious πŸ™‚

  15. Yes, that Truth, that Love, we need to hear about constantly . . .and re-tell over and over again. Until everyone has heard and seen and read! God bless you and your sweet heart for Him.
