In Addition To

“. . .this is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, besides the regular burnt offering with its drink offering.” Numbers 28:10

There were daily offerings given, but also so much more.

Oh Lord, may I never seek to limit myself to a standard daily requirement where You are concerned. And here’s a simple poem . . .

A Limitless Offer

May my time with You
extend throughout the day
a holy offering, a sacrifice
to Your glory and praise.

  1. Deb, This poem made me think of 1 Thessalonians 5:17: “Never stop praying.” I offer time with God each morning on my knees, where I praise Him, but that prayer needs to “extend throughout the day.” Like the 1 Thess. verse, your poem contains a great deal of truth in just a few words. Peace, Linda

  2. “Oh Lord, may I never seek to limit myself to a standard daily requirement where You are concerned.” This is so true, Deb! We wouldn’t want someone who claimed to love us to feel they ‘had’ to spend requisite time with us. That wouldn’t seem like true love to us-

  3. Thanks, Deb

I know how great it feels when I spend an evening with good company. I’d like Him to feel that way about the time I spend with Him.

  4. Thank you so much, Linda, for connecting that up with 1 Thess. 5:17! I don’t want to leave Him out of my life at any time. 🙂 God bless you and His truth that shines so wonderfully through you!

  5. Beautifully put! 🙂 Like “phew, got that over with . ..what’s next on the list.” ha! Doesn’t sound like love at all that way. God bless you as you spend your days with the One you love!

  6. Oh, that is so sweet, Ann! And so wonderful that we don’t have to leave His company. We can go about the day together. 🙂 And .. .He likes getting introduced to others that way too.
God bless you for the God company you keep!

  7. Amen, Since I’ve been Blissdom occupied I haven’t realized how I missed your words deb. You say so much with so little (as opposed me and my hogging of all the words in the universe).

All day, pieces of The God who made everything – to stop and know this – thank you deb.

  8. Thank you, Craig, for adding Him here each time you come! 🙂 So happy for your Blissdom time, for all that God is doing in that . . .in you. God bless you and all the ways He is with you all day long.

  9. Hi Deb,
Chatterbox is what I’d love to be called by Jesus but I suspect He might actually call me a opportunistic chatter. Thank you for reminding us that there is no limit to chatting with God and I feel inspired to talk with Him just coz I need to. It’s amazing that in our faith, there is no prescribed posture, format or timing to pray but we are simply called to pray at all times without ceasing (Thanks Linda). God bless you for revealing His heart to us today.
    In Christ,

  10. I love that, Vineet . . .chatterbox! 🙂 So thankful that He wants to be with us all the time. Now, just to have that same desire for Him. All the time! Oh . . .how that it doesn’t have to be a certain way at certain times . . .love that you put that in there! 🙂 God bless you and all your time with Him!

  11. I like that one, Deb! A few words that carry so much … it’s got such a depth of meaning. Thank you for sharing.

  12. God bless you, Eric, and the beautiful poems He gives you. 🙂 This was one of the shortest posts. You are so gracious to have found a depth to it!
Oh, and Eric . . .there is a new online Christian Journal taking submissions over at:
I know Eden would love your work! 🙂

  13. Love the poem Deb! When I offer to Him what I do from sunrise to sunset that is a time sooo well spent with Him!

  14. You are a beautiful offering to Him. He so loves you and accepts you, and shines through you! God bless your time with Him and all the way it is reflected in your life!
