The King’s Highway

“Please let us pass through your country. We will not pass through fields or vineyards, nor will we drink water from wells; we will go along the King’s Highway; we will not turn aside to the right hand or to the left until we have passed through your territory.” Numbers 20:17

Edom refused Israel’s request to pass through the land.

Lord, thank You for Your Holy Highway that passes through what the enemy considers his. And here’s a simple poem . . .

Road Trip

There is a highway
that we travel
entering into
what isn’t safe
but we must go
and grab the hands of
all those willing
to leave that place.

  1. The images send chill to my spine. As one passes through there’s taunting everywhere and those who wants to go are threatened. We do need Him to have that courage to pass through; to pass through holding other hands.

    Praying for safe passage.
Whew! That is something else Deb.

  2. “Road Trip”

Just the title makes me smile 🙂

  3. Dedb, You wrote a traveling poem! It goes perfectly with what I’ve been writing while on my trip. How cool! 🙂 Peace, Linda

  4. Sorry! I didn’t mean to scare you! My encouragement meter must be running on low at times. Must get a refill soon. 😉 God bless you and your way along life’s road with Him.

  5. I’m so glad . . .for you and the trip He has you on and for your smiles! 🙂 God bless you, Mike!

  6. You know, I wrote these prior to your trip . . .so didn’t know but He always knows!
“For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.” Psalm 139:4
Thinking we can exchange tongue for notebooks or keypads too! 🙂 God bless you and give you safe travel home again!

  7. Thanks, Deb

Sometimes I feel like there are other hands grabbing at me but I keep my focus on Him. If we are of like mind bond together in Him and run the race together, we’ll make it.

Something about your post reminds me of Lot and his family fleeing God’s wrath. 🙂

  8. I never thought about the hands trying to pull us off the highway, just our hands trying to pull others onto it! ha!
I like the Lot feeling . . .must be that Old Testament thing going on here in Numbers.
God bless you Ann, and your hands and feet that do for others in His name.

  9. Very true Deb. Beautiful 🙂

  10. God bless you, beautiful Eden, and all those you are helping reach for Him.

  11. For some reason this made me think of those strange moments when you get scared in even familiar locations. Like coming home to a dark house…

  12. Oh . . .I think that is a really good application, in a way. Thank you Jessie, for making me think more about all of this!

  13. hi Deb,
I love your beautiful poems that echo your love of God and I find it amazing that you can in a few words sum up the gist of the passage. I am challenged in that area and just love visiting your blog pond for my fill of spiritual nectar.
    In Christ,

  14. Well, that makes it even cooler! 🙂

  15. Thank you for encouraging me, Vineet. Your kind words help keep me going. I love how He gives each of us a something to do, each one’s work is a little different from the other and it all blends together, like a symphony for Him. God bless you and the living water that you offer by way of Jesus!

  16. This was so beautiful!

  17. I think it’s beautiful to you because you have such a Jesus heart! 🙂 God bless you and all those you hold onto today!

  18. Hi Debs… Hope all is well and your days are filled with His manifest presence.
This post reminded me of the narrow road, so narrow I could almost slip off. But by His grace I am held through it. Even when the enemies try to put in obstacles, my Lord goes before me and makes every path straight! Thanks for reminding me of the King’s Highway…
This song has been playing on my mind ever since I saw the title of your post:
    Be blessed always,

  19. Rita! God bless you and thank you for blessing me (us!) with that song! Absolutely loved it and can’t believe you added that here! Smiling and singing now . . .:) Praying and praising God for His grace that holds you to the path and loves you along the way!

  20. 🙂 Praising God with you… See you someday!
