His Name

“So they shall put My name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them.” Numbers 6:27

What a gracious and loving God we have!

Thank You, Lord, for the honor of Your name and the blessing it brings. And here’s a simple poem . . .

There is a God
who loves us
who promises
to bless,
who puts His name
upon us
as we enter in
His rest.

  1. Nice poem you are sharing.keep it up.

  2. Thank you for the encouragement! God bless you! πŸ™‚

  3. Hi Deb,
You always set my mind in motion with your thougts and poems. Israel is God’s chosen nation and Jews are His chosen people and where I feel most blessed is in knowing that I’m a Jew by my spiritual blessing and a part of spiritual Israel because of that same blessing. God’s Israel certainly is different from the physical Israel today beacuse it lies lost in its religiosity and ‘trying’ to appease God whereas we are a people chosen by God and transformed by Jesus’ blood into a holy nation that lives to give Him glory. Thank you for this beautiful reminder!
    In Christ,

  4. …and that name is gracious

    and that name is strong

it’s part of him within us

    and proves that we belong

    (a really really simple poem)

    Smiling πŸ™‚

  5. Deb, When you write such wonderful poems like this it makes me second guess my decision to start doing a Thankful Thursday poem every Thursday! I love the image of His Name upon us now and forever. πŸ™‚ Peace, Linda

  6. Oh don’t you even think for a minute of not doing a thankful Thursday poem!!!!! We need your poems and thankful ones at that! Can’s wait! πŸ™‚ God bless you and all He has you up to! πŸ™‚

  7. I like your simple poems better than mine! Yours sounded like a song! πŸ™‚ Thank you Craig!

  8. Thank you Vineet, for taking the time to read and comment! πŸ™‚ I think I didn’t state my devotion too well . . .sorry! I really believe that Israel today is the Israel of God’s promise and blessing. We are His children too, and His promises pertain to us as well, because of Jesus . . .because we were grafted in. πŸ™‚ God bless you as He fulfills all His promises to you!

  9. You have a gift Debbie, and I am glad to be able to have you share it with us. You are also a blessing to us all!

  10. You are too gracious, E. Thank you for encouraging me to do this thing I do! ha!

  11. Can’t help singing!

“I’m His, what a wonderful feeling in my soul
He’s mine, He’s protecting me from the heat and cold
I’ll do whatsoever He bids me I will do
I know my Redeemer will lead me safely thru”

I’m happy to wear His name πŸ™‚

    Redeemed and Re-named!

  12. So happy to “hear” you singing praises to His name. You wear it beautifully! πŸ™‚

  13. The fact that God wants to put His name on us is an amazing thing, one that I do not fully realize. Blessings!

  14. I don’t fully realize what it means and is either. . .but I want it! More than any other name. Thank you for the blessing of your comment!
