“And every offering of your grain offering you shall season with salt, you shall not allow the salt of the covenant of your God to be lacking from your grain offering. With all your offerings you shall offer salt.” Leviticus 2:13

There is nothing bland about our covenant relationship with God.

Thank You, Jesus, for seasoning us and knowing how to bring out our best flavor . . .glory to You!

Just Right

Seasoned toward perfection
by the Master Chef
lovingly placed upon the fire
and that is where we’re left
to be a sweet aroma
a holy offering
a pleasing sacrifice
to the glory of our King.

  1. Delicious!
    Thank you for another serving
    of God’s Menu
    which isn’t seasonal
    but eternal!

  2. What a beautiful comment, sweet one! Thank you for the blessing flavor only you can bring here! πŸ™‚

  3. Nicely done Deb. Your thought reminds me of a verse I recently read in Acts.

14:22 “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God.”

  4. So good to hear from you Mike. I’m trying to focus on the sweet part of it, and not get bitter. He might need to throw some sugar on me as well as salt. πŸ˜‰ God bless you and your family. Thinking of you and praying too!

  5. Deb, What a tasty thought – “There is nothing bland about our covenant relationship with God.” That gives me something to chew on today. πŸ˜‰ Peace, Linda

  6. Deb, I don’t think you need any sugar. Salt brings out sweet flavors, and His salt brings out the sweetness in you. Peace, Linda

  7. It’s the least I can do after all your recipe Fridays! πŸ™‚ Hope you’re having a good weekend! love, deb

  8. Oh my what a sweet aroma coming from this post.
My pastor preached on how we are called to suffer for the cause of Christ today.
I really like Mike’s comment too.
I only wish you hadn’t mentioned the sugar part-now I have that stupid defense leopard song in my head ” pour some sugar on me” haha

Well I will suffer through it πŸ™‚
    Thanks so much

  9. Suffering is not something any of us really wants to do! I think once we understand how He is in it with us, then we can handle it better. . .as long as there is sugar, something sweet from Him, from time to time. Sorry about the song that you are stuck with now! ha! And Mike’s comment . . .yes! He has a great blog, a special understanding and ministry to those who suffer. (Hunger and Thirst)
Take cares! So good to hear from you!
