Between Two Robbers

“And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him:

Then two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and another on the left.” Matthew 27:37-38

It doesn’t matter where we put Jesus . . .among thieves, on a cross, in a fairy tale or a tomb. He can’t stay there. He doesn’t fit. What’s going to matter is where He puts us.

Thank You, Lord, for placing us in a right relationship with God the Father when we believe in You. And here’s a simple poem . . .

A King Between

A King between two robbers
hoisted on a hill

some watched from a distance
others came closer still

to mock Him and blaspheme
until they had their fill

but the Love between the Father and His children
we could never kill.

  1. Deb, I am always amazed by how your “simple poems” can convey such deep and profound truths. You say so much with so few words. This one brought tears to my eyes, as thoughts of the cross often do. I sometimes wonder, if I had been there would I have watched from a distance or come closer? And if I came close, would it be as John did or as the pharisees? Peace, Linda

  2. Just stopping by to say hello and congrats on keeping up the good work!

  3. It is so hard to think about His being crucified! God has to keep working on me to stay encouraging through this instead of becoming a puddle. 🙂 God bless you!

  4. Thank you, Jessie, for being so gracious always! I appreciate you!

  5. I’m really amazed by His unconditional love.
When bitterness visits me I remind myself,
‘hey, you too isn’t worthy of His love
but He keeps on loving you anyway’.
And Linda’s question is thought provoking.
I’m glad I come closer and catch it.
Now, got to think about it.

  6. I’m so glad you came close too, and closer still, to His great love for you! 🙂
