A Sign From Heaven

“Then the Pharisees and Sadducees  came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven.”
“He answered and said to them, ‘ . . .You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.”  Matthew 16:1-3

When traveling, I depend on signs all the time.  Route signs, exit signs, street signs and even stop signs.

Jesus, thank You for leaving us sign after sign, pointing to You..  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Salvation Sign

Cruising down life’s highway
making pretty good time
until it turned into a race
one not of Your design.

Please keep me on the road
that leads to Your cross
the sign of my salvation
that stays me from getting lost.

Has Jesus left you a sign today?

  1. Deb, Another great poem to remind me of which signs to keep an eye out for. This reminded me of the song “Slow Down” by Third Day:

    Tell me to slow down
If you think that the road that I’m on is going nowhere
    Tell me to slow down
If you know that I’m going too fast for my own good
    Tell me to slow down
If the way is leading to a dead end
    Tell me to slow down
Turn around, let me change the way I’m going

Sometimes we need to slow down to be able to read the signs He has for us to follow. Peace, Linda

  2. So true Linda! Hard to see those signs going 90 mph! 🙂

  3. Were you watching my speedometer on my last out-of-town trip? lol! Peace, Linda

  4. thank God for the Sign
    for it reminds me
    of who I am
    and who You truly are.
    when my pain
    brought me to a crossroad
    of peaceful path
    or to my wrath
    i remember Your sign.
    sometimes not easy
    but i know
    it’s the best way.

  5. That is such a beautiful truth and way to put it! God bless you and thank you for adding your beauty and faith here!
