Gaining More Time

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life. . .”  Matthew 6:24

Not worrying about my life would definitely free up more time for me . . .to spend with Jesus.

Jesus, thank You for always covering me, keeping me and feeding me each day as I come to You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Fed and Covered

If birds don’t worry about what to eat
then really why should I?
And all nature’s dressed so great
without wondering what to buy.

Assured You love me as much as this
and then again even more,
I can let go of these concerns
spending more time at heaven’s door.

  1. thanks Debbie
    guilty as charged but ENCOURAGED!!
It does no good at all to worry.
there are so many constructive things to do,
Like spending time in prayer 🙂

  2. Deb, We humans are so prone to worry, it’s no wonder Jesus took the time to tell us not to. But it doesn’t really help anything, does it? I used to worry a lot, but I have found that as I bring my concerns to “heaven’s door” and leave them there, I worry much less than I used to. But a reminder is always a good thing! Peace, Linda

  3. You got me laughing . . .guilty but encouraged! 🙂 I know we have to do more than sit around in order to keep food on the table and clothes on our kids . . .I just don’t want it to become the only focus of my life.

  4. Thank you, Linda, for helping us understand how it’s so natural to worry. As I go through Matthew, there is just so much that I know everyone knows! ha! So, if He points out something that I need to remember, that’s what I go for. 🙂 I had thought by now I would have found something more that Aubrey and I could do together, work-wise. He keeps reminding me that He’s got us covered. God bless you!

  5. if only we have as much faith as those birds
    we would probably sing happily
regardless if we’re out of tune
and do the birds have wrinkles?
why do you think we worry?
    chirp! 🙂

  6. I love that . . .do birds have wrinkles? ha! Not that I’ve seen! Why do we worry? for me, because I forget how much He loves me and has things under control.:)
