“You shall make of these an incense, a compound according to the art of the perfumer, salted, pure and holy. And you shall beat some of it very fine, and put some of it before the Testimony in the tabernacle of meeting where I will meet with you. It shall be most holy to you.” Exodus 30:35-36
I have a dear friend going through intense struggles. Her life is pressed and crushed daily, a very fine worship of Her King.
Oh Lord, may I not resist becoming a very fine incense for You. And here’s a simple poem . . .
The Very Fine Kind
By the greatest Artist of all
we are compounded, stirred and mixed
salted, made holy and purified
for such a time as this.
And some lives are further crushed
into a very fine incense
put forth as a testimony
a great and holy witness.

Thanks Neil, for sharing that site! God bless you!
Deb, Another great poem. I like the idea that our struggles are a fine incense to be put forth as a testimony to His greatness. The crushing of the incense brings out the sweet aroma of His grace. Peace, Linda
This is definitely a strong poem and a strong message. I love watching you grow in your own personal worship and as a poet 🙂
I love your comment . . .especially the sweet aroma of His grace. Thank you for that, Linda!
Thank you so much for helping me grow in all of it, in all ways. God is so good to have brought me to you. 🙂 I love how He knows what and who we need, even when we don’t.
I have wondered, in relation to how we might cheer for a player when he or she does something spectacular, does God cheer for us when we endure His purifying process. Hudson Taylor referred to it as ‘faith’s crucible’.
Love the poem and thought.
Thank you, Mike, for that wonderful picture . . .of God cheering for us. I like that, and Hudson Taylor’s term for it! God bless you for your special ministry to us!
