“The rich shall not give more and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when you give an offering to the Lord, to make atonement for yourselves.” Exodus 30:15
Whether we are millionaires or among the homeless, have lived a “good life” or are in prison, the cost of our atonement is all the same. And it’s been prepaid by Jesus on the cross at Calvary.
Thank You, Lord, for paying the price for me. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Prepaid
I am so blessed, Lord
that You have died for me
but there are still others
who don’t know and can’t see
they don’t have to strive their whole life
in order to be free,
You have paid for us all
while nailed upon that tree.
I was thinking about you yesterday- I passed an old old cemetery and there was this wooden cross over someone’s grave, a real wood, homemade cross. Reminded me of how simple life should be, rewarding, if others gave it a chance.
Deb, I wrote a post on this very verse awhile back. I’m curious whether you had read it, or if the Holy Spirit revealed the wonder of this verse to you, too. I absolutely love the poem you wrote about it. 🙂 Peace, Linda
i am glad i have finally see
how blessed i am actually
thanks Deb for sharing Jesus
if only all knew how Good He is 🙂
Thank you for thinking about me Chef E! Your comment sounds like poem material . . .:)
Linda . . .I didn’t know about your post! It just stood out to me in my daily reading. 🙂 So good to have you back . . .thanks for encouraging me!
You are blessed, sweet one, and a blessing too! 🙂
Deb, That is so cool! You should check out my post on this verse. It’s called “I’m a Half Shekel Short” and I posted it back in February. And I’m happy to provide encouragement, and am so glad when you encourage me, too. 🙂 Peace, Linda
I love the poem and the thought. Jesus is such a wonderful Saviour- thanks for magnifying Him!
In Christ,
Ben
It’s so easy to magnify Jesus . . .He is so worthy! God bless you, Ben, as you do the same.
