Saved By The Blood

“Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are.”  Exodus 12:13

The last plague was coming . . .the death of all Egypt’s first born.  Moses instructed the people to kill the lamb they had chosen, dipping a branch of hysop in the blood and striking the lintel and the doorposts.  When the Lord saw the blood, those doors would be passed over and His children would be saved.

Lord, how grateful I am to You for placing Your blood over me.  It’s only by You that I am saved.  Here’s a simple poem . . .

Blood Led

It’s hard to think
of all the suffering
and the amount of blood
that’s been shed,
but there’s a Lamb
without spot or blemish
through whose blood
were saved and led.

  1. The Passover is so powerful ,strange and wonderful.
I understand why many churches don’t want to speak of the blood anymore ,it can turn people off,but it is a
    very important part of Christianity.

what can wash away my sin?
what can make me whole again?

  2. What a wonderful and powerful truth to think about. He “washed us from our sins in His own blood” Rev. 1:5 Thanks so much for reminding me of this great truth!
    In Christ,

  10. Deb,

Oh..the blood of the lamb is something many christians take granted…But I’m glad that we understand the depth of it…Claiming the blood of the lamb in my life has made me see many miracles…If God’s willing, I will share them in my blog…

Thank you for that powerful thought Deb…

    God Bless,

  11. Looking forward to hearing about the miracles He has done for you Rani, when He wills! You are a beautiful storehouse of His! 🙂

  12. You mean this one? I’m sure there’s an easier way to link in a comment, but I’ve figured out a round-a-bout way that works. Peace, Linda

  13. Thanks Linda! 🙂 See, you are good at this! Everyone check out Linda’s post about the doorframe’s of our hearts!

  14. Deb,
His blood is the currency that paid for our sins. I have been thinking and studying a lot lately about the sacrifices for atonement all through the Old Testament, and how a Blood Sacrifice was needed to atone for Sin. I don’t mean to ramble, but it really brings it home to me how huge it was for God to sacrifice His Son for us was. Thanks and God Bless

  15. You didn’t ramble! 🙂 I read a book once about how all the feasts that the Israelites were told to observe and all the sacrifices foretold of Jesus. I think it’s one of the ways that helps open the eyes of Jewish people to see Him. Thanks for your thoughtful comments! deb

  16. So many good teaching comments here. Like some, I’ve resisted seeing how the blood of Christ could be something beautiful. Part of me still hates that He had to die that way… could there have been an easier way?

In spite of that, I’m so humbled that He did it for me. So humbled so grateful…

  17. It bothers me too, Linda. And truthfully, I speak and write of it without truly understanding it all yet. So will just be humbled and grateful with you!
