How Long To Humble?

“How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me?”  Exodus 10:3

The above question was asked of Pharaoh.  God surely knew the answer.  Pharaoh’s heart remained hardened and a plague of locusts invaded Egypt, eating everything in sight.

Oh Jesus, please help keep me humble today so I don’t let self-importance destroy my relationship with You.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Arrogance Remedy

Help me not think
too much about what I do
but concentrate instead
on giving praise and glory to You.

  1. God More-ning, Deblessed —
Your daily soul-simplicity with spiritual depth is infectious. Thank you again for sharing with us and for being a faithful visitor and commentor on my blog.
    Geolisening to dawn birds

  2. Praying your day is blessed, Geoff, with all sorts of His wonders! You are an inspiration to me! 🙂

  3. It wasn’t that long before he really got humbled.
We make our lives so much harder by making Pharaoh choices.
“We” just sounds so much better than I. 🙂

    thank you for this

  4. I’m so smiling at your we better than I comment! You’re right! ha! And I spent a weekend with that one verse playing over and over in my head . .. how long would I refuse to humble myself before Him? gulp. Thank you so much for your comment! And I’ll try to comment at your blog soon! I am just not that smart about poetry! God bless you always! deb

  5. Great thought! And great poem. Humility is a tricky thing because once you start thinking you really have it, you’ve probably lost it. 🙂 It’s something we can all probably use a little more of.

  6. I really like that Ben! Once I think I am humble, well, then I’m not anymore! ha! Thanks so much for always pointing us to Him! God bless you today and always!

  7. Thanks Deb,
I am so grateful to have reminders of humility. The opposite of humility being pride, I choose lowliness. God Bless

  8. It’s so good to hear from you again! 🙂 (big smiles!) I want to be humble, but don’t always enjoy the process of being humbled. hmmm! ha! Welcome back! deb
