Voicing Dreams

As Aubrey’s mom and caregiver, her dreams morph into mine.  Recently, two of her dreams are coming true.  All it took was for me to voice them to others, risking possible rejection and getting laughed at.  It has definitely been worth the risk!

Jesus, thank You for facing rejection, mocking and a cross as You voiced Your Father’s dreams for us.

Here’s a simple poem to help us dream big!

My (Bad) Would-Be Advice

Joseph, lay low.  You
already have your father’s
ear and that fancy
coat . . .and ten crazy
jealous brothers.
Joseph, keep your dreams
to yourself. Play it safe,
and never be instrumental in
saving the children
of Israel.

“Now Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brothers and they hated him even more.”  Genesis 37:5

  1. Great message,
If we don’t trust God to fulfill our needs and desires then we aren’t allowing him to answer prayers. Pride and fear of rejection keeps us from asking, and pride and fear are the enemy. God Bless Deb!

  2. Deb,

Dreams and hopes in life helps us concentrate on God more and trust him even more when they come true..

    God Bless,
    Rani

  3. Thanks Jim and Rani for the good comments and truths about Him! Have a great day in Jesus, deb

  4. Sometimes, we are meant to hold the tongue… we could learn a thing or two, if we would.
    I like the new look!

  5. I agree with you and also with Manda; both disclosure and discernment regarding dreams is vital. But I must confess that I just luuuuuuuuuuuuuuve sharing them and sometimes blurting them out — for example: How about flying someday in church?! Can you see me…going gracefully up like a helium balloon during my favorite worship song…then driftingently down…back to my seat, no one seeing me except for maybe my wife?

  6. You are so right too Manda! There have been many times I wished I’d just kept quiet! ha! Thanks so much! deb

  7. I’m smiling again Geoff! 🙂 Love that dream! God bless you and yours, your writing and your dreams! deb

  8. So true, so true! Blessings,

    Eden
