Perish The Thought

“The desire of the wicked shall perish.”  Psalm 112:10

The goodness of God will last forever.

Lord, I want to think more about Your desires than those of the wicked.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

Upon Me

Your desire
is upon me

and it will never
pass away

pure and holy
are Your plans

from everlasting
and day to day.

  5. What could you do to shift to an understanding of the goodness in you? How would you align this to God’s goodness?

    Shakti

    • God bless you, Shakti! I love your questions that make me think . .even if I don’t know the answers. :) So, just for me . .I don’t really want to shift to an understanding of the goodness in me. The goodness in me is Him, His Holy Spirit, and it helps me most to think about Him. Thank you for being here and blessing us!

  6. “Pure and holy are your plans” – thanks Debbie, for these words. Much-needed refreshment on a difficult day. So thankful I can hold onto God’s eternal promises in a world of temporary solutions…

    • I love what you said , Ali, about holding onto God’s eternal promises in a world of temporary solutions. Thank you! And God bless you and the plans He has for you!
p.s. Ali . .the last time you commented, I found it in my spam and tried to move it out . ..and lost it. :( I’m so sorry. I’m sure it was a wonderful comment, so thank you!

      • Hey Debbie – it happens sometimes doesn’t it – thanks for trying to move it out. Hopefully that cheeky spam folder won’t grab anymore hehe. I’ll keep an eye on it too.
        Be blessed today :-) A

  7. “Your desire
    is upon me”

Doesn’t it just bless you to know that He, Almighty God, Elohim, Adonai, El Shaddai, El Kadosh, The Holy One of Israel, Alpha and Omega, the Ancient of Days… desires you? That He desires me? Now that is something to wrap our minds around…

As always, your “simple poem” has given me much to ponder. Thank you for being faithful to share what Holy Spirit has laid on your heart.

    Much love to you always,
    Cheryl

  13. “The desire of the wicked shall perish.” Psalm 112:10

I wondered how this was possible. So, I checked Jamieson, Fausset & Brown’s commentary. Here’s what they said: “Disappointed in their malevolent wishes by the prosperity of the pious, the wicked are punished by the working of their evil passions which come to naught.”

Evil will be frustrated by goodness. Wow!

Great poem which once again stirred me to check things out. Your poems do that to me. Thanks.

Maybe the Kentucky Derby is too big a stretch for Aub this year, but what about entering Sun and Bean in the Mouse Pinewood Derby? It looks exciting!

    • Thank you, Mr. Larry, for checking things out! That helps me and brings a deeper insight to my simple stuff! God bless you!

Oh, the Mouse Pinewood Derby does sound fun. Sun and Beam are currently in training and they are pretty competitive. :) We might stand a chance at this!

  14. Our God is just so good to us . . Amen and Amen . . . may His glory in all of your work continue to flow . . .

  15. spiritually uplifting and beautifully executed in its flow~ Debbie

    • God bless you and uplift you beautifully today!! Thank you for being here and blessing us!

  16. This poem is so beautiful. It is so easy to forget about the Lord when our days are busy. I am so thankful He doesn’t forget about us, and that He sends messenger like you to remind us that we are always on His mind.

    Love,
    Theresa

    • Oh amen, Theresa . .I am thankful too that He doesn’t forget about us, even when we lose sight of Him, temporary. Love you and God bless you abundantly!

  17. When it comes time to contemplating eternal things, there is so much to get all fired up about! Thanks, Debbie.

    • God bless you too, Lady Dei, and all the family!!!

  19. I love how He is a “day to day” God in so many ways. He doesn’t just show up on special occasions. Lovely poem, Debbie!

    Blessings ~ Wendy

    • I love that too, Wendy. I need Him so much in the little daily things! Thank you and God bless you!

  20. Oh that I could capture, focus on and hold onto the good desires of God for me without ever losing them to the swirling fear around me. Thanks for the encouragement Deb!

    • I am praying for you and with you, Pastor J! Thank you and God bless you!

  21. In a nutshell, Debbie, as usual! His love, mercy and grace are EVER towards His blood-bought, adopted children. He watches over us, guiding us in His plans for us.

The problem lies with US, not HIM. His thoughts are constantly toward us, but we too often get distracted and we come to grief.

    How foolish we are!
How great and mighty is our God!

    • You always highlight His truths and promises .. how His love, mercy and grace are ever towards us. And greater is He than the wicked and their desires. God bless you , mentor Angela, as you continuously praise His name!
