Awakening The Dawn

“I will awaken the dawn.”  Psalm 108:2

The birds are really great at this.

Lord, may I praise You even in the dark.  And here’s a simple poem . . .

On The Rise

I heard the first bird singing
before it was even light

trusting and believing
in the coldness of night

that the sun which had not risen
surely would yet come

and in its heart began to praise
as though it was already done.

  2. “I will awaken the dawn.”

    Now that’s power!

    Evolutionary humanists talk about ‘chance’.

    No chance!!

    Beautiful poem, Debbie. God bless.

    • :D I love your comment Roger! God bless you as you know you know you know the Son is coming!

  3. If I can sing in the dark, singing in the light is that much more meaningful.

    • Amen, Pastor Bill! Praying to just do it! God bless you as you make some noise for Him!

  4. Dear friend –
What a sweet picture of faith – believing what is not yet seen; hearing the song in the darkness!
May our nights, since you and I share much of the night, be as sweet as the days knowing His presence is present in all fullness in both.

    • Oh I love you being here, gracious friend!!! :D And I loved knowing His presence is present at night the same as during the day. Love you and God bless you as you trust Him more and more!

  5. This one ministered to me this am. Sing in he dark….I like it Deb, thank you!

    • I’m so glad that it blessed you! Knowing that, blessed me! Thank you and God bless you more!

  6. I agree with Roger – i was struck when you highlighted this verse with the power one would need to possess to awaken the dawn, and the trust in the yet unseen breaking of dawn because of the ever faithful One is wonderful.

    Beautiful Deb.

    • I had thought of this before reading the verse .. .hearing that first bird singing. There was something powerful in that, indeed. Thanks for your insight and the way you praise the ever faithful One! God bless you!

  7. glimpses of LIGHT … my favorite …. those early morning blue colors are marvelous … and so are your words :-)

  8. “that the sun which had not risen; surely would yet come
and in its heart began to praise; as though it was already done.”

Oh how I wish each one of us had this much faith…. to praise the Lord for blessings we have yet to receive.

    Wonderful Lesson Deb. Thank you.

    • Thanking Him for sending me that little fearless trusting bird! :) God bless you, Pastor Rob, and your strong faith in Him!!

  11. The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn….which shines brighter and brighter until full day. Proverbs 4:18. “Everything”……will work together for our good. Romans 8:28.

    • Beautiful verses with this, Ike! Thank you for sharing and being here and God bless you too!

  12. “I will awaken the dawn.” Psalm 108:2

I read the Psalm because I was interested in discovering who said these words. It was David. He was talking about making so much noise in praising God with his harp, lyre, and singing that the dawn would be awakened. His reasoning for his loud praise: he wanted help from God in battles with his adversaries.

Like hello, Larry. Make some noise today!

Great poem. If Aub has any pictures of ponies making snow angels, tell her to post them. I’d love to see them.

    • I love your, ‘hello Larry’ moments! :) God bless you as you stir things up a bit!
I’d love to see those ponies making snow angels too! haha! The mental picture makes me laugh!

  13. Debbie, this is so lovely! I read it earlier in my e-mail box just after coming in the house from letting the dog out. We have a choir of feathered ones inhabiting our garden lately.

    Blessings ~ Wendy

      • I wrote a poem this evening for you Debbie ~ trying to follow your example ~hope you like it. ~Blessings friend ~D

  15. I love prophetic praise! Great post, Deb!

    • There you go, Lady Dei! Those birds got it done pat! God bless you and your sweet ones, as they sing and praise too!

  16. >> “in its heart began to praise as though it was already done”
    Isn’t this the secret?
    *IF* we believe God . . .
*IF* we believe His promises . . .
*IF* we believe He CANNOT break His promises . . .
*THEN* we will praise Him for the answers ‘as though it was already done’

We serve an incredibly amazing God who CANNOT lie; who CANNOT break His Word; who MUST, by His own nature, fulfill His Word . . . and what is more, who DELIGHTS to bless His own blood-bought, adopted children according to His abundance. “No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” Psalm 84:11

    • Thank you for sharing this comment here .. your faith and trust in your amazing God! Loved Ps. 84:11 with it all too!!! God bless you, mentor Angela as you praise like it is already done!

  17. I love praise poetry.. I love the way you praise God. God bless you as you continue to praise Him everyday.

    • Praising God is good, always! Thank you for encouraging me and God bless you as you praise too!

  18. Oh Deb,

    Love,
    Theresa

    • I’m so glad! :) Love you and God bless you as you praise Him today!
