“They have burned up all the meeting places of God in the land.” Psalms 74:8
There are countries now in which churches are burned and Christians are martyred.
Lord, please strengthen our desire to be the church You redeemed us to be. And here’s a simple poem . . .
Still
Church buildings
may be abolished
all across the land
but nothing keeps us
from each other
and the wedding day
He’s planned.

Wow… I really love the passion, love and fervor within this post Debbie -showing that no matter what happens to us we are his bride, and we will be united with him on that great day. Really powerful image too – thanks for the reminder to pray for those who are persecuted in this way. May we remain open to the plan he has for us, whatever that may be.
Thank you , Ali, for your passion and love for Jesus, that motivates all you write and do. God bless you as you stay ready for Him!
Whenever people realize the church is not the building and stop saying “I went to the church today” we will come to see the truth of your post. Well said Deb.
God bless you as you shepherd your flock, Pastor Bill!
Lovely post sis. For Jesus doesn’t live in a building He lives within us. Glory to God…
Amen to Jesus living within us, Dear Desiray! God bless you and yours!
What a blessing it is to live in a country where we can freely worship our Lord. My fear is that we are taking things for granted. My greatest warning would be that, many times, when we take the Lord’s blessings for granted we will loose them.
By God’s grace let’s appreciate our freedoms and pray for those who are struggling to worship Him in foreign countries. Lord bless you Deb.
Thank you for that warning, Pastor Rob . .to not take the Lord’s blessings for granted. Praying with you today . ..God bless you!
Thanks Debbie; very well expressed.. Blessings sister.. Bro Pat
Thanks for stopping by, Bro Pat and God bless you as you worship Him!
“The church patronized is the church paralyzed, therefore, the church in peril. The church persecuted is the church prayerful, and therefore powerful. (G. Campbell Morgan)
Who knows? Maybe our prayers for a strong church cause persecution to befall us.
Great Friday poem. Take the day off and go to a spa.
Thank you, Mr. Larry, for giving us much to think about and pray about! God bless you and yours as He strengthens you today.
p.s. Spa? I’m just not a spa person . ..but we did go outside and swing.
Definitely a call to prayer, Sis Deb–good one. God bless you–love, sis Caddo
Love you too, Sis Caddo Delight . ..God bless you and cover you this weekend. Praying your boys do good!
Wow Deb – i was so sad when i read the scripture and even your comment, and then you turned it to such hope in so few words – brilliant!
Sorry for the sad parts! But thankful that there was some hope here too! God bless you , Mr. Ben, as you encourage us in Christ!
Sad is good when there is resolution
Oh phew!
You are so gracious to us! Thank you!
Can’t wait to see the glorious Groom ascending from the sky!
Great post, Deb!
God Bless You!
God bless you as you watch and see, Lady Dei!
Deb, I love the way you put that. Thank you so much.
Love,
Theresa
God bless you, wonderful woman of the Word! I loved that last post of yours.
love and prayers and hugs!
Debbie, it is amazing how what the enemy plans for evil gets used for good. Persecution only strengthens the body of Christ. We will all be on time for that wedding feast! Your poem is both touching and encouraging.
Blessings ~ Wendy xo
Thank you for sharing how persecution only strengthens the body of Christ. That strengthened me!
God bless you, Wendy, as you meet with Him and His this weekend!
There are so many places where the church is threatened – we have no idea what that kind of pressure would be like, do we? This is a great reminder for us to appreciate and be grateful for our many, many freedoms…
You have such a heart for those who are persecuted, Melody. I read their stories and you’re right . ..I don’t know how they do it. But for Jesus. God bless you as you meet with Him and abide in His truth today!
If things continue in the direction they seem to be heading – in both your country and mine – it might not be too long before Churches in our countries are set alight and Christians are persecuted. More than ever, we need to stand up and be counted. We need to let our resident Light shine forth. We need to show the world Christ still lives.
You are right – “nothing keeps us from each other and the wedding day
He’s planned” – but we need to be ready to speak out His Gospel to all we meet, so that they too can join us on that wonderful day when we will meet in heaven.
What an incredibly amazing eternity as we worship our incredibly amazing God!
Thank you so much, mentor Angela, for lighting a fire under us!
Amen to sharing Him with as many as we can. I want everyone there that day. love you and God bless you! How’s Myles doing?
Amen . May nothing keep us from that wedding day. I enjoyed this poem. God bless. Greetings from Africa.
God bless your time in Africa, dear Emerald! And all those you meet!
Amen. Thanks
Thanks for the reminder to not forget and to pray for our brothers and sisters who are suffering for Christ around the world!
God bless you and yours, Pastor Dave, and your congregation too!
Amen Deb! I often pray for the persecuted church. I pray that should Godcall me to such a place of sacrifice my testimony would be strengthened to stand.
Praying with you, Pastor J! God bless you as He strengthens you each day for all He’s called you to!
Love this, the poem was very touching; God Bless!
God bless you and yours too! Praying you have a good week!
Lots of passion here Deb. THank you.
God bless you, Tammy, and the passion that He give you!
